| Well that was one to forget I'm afraid. Job done getting through to next round but I dread to think what our completion rate was. Hunslet gave a good go of it and actually taught us on how to build pressue with several drop outs etc. They just weren't good enough to capitilise on all the territory and poseesion they had. A tacklethon for us.
I'm afraid our quality in squad depth is not there. Looking forward to seeing Murrell,Grix,Fairbank,Salty and Boyle return next week.
Looks like we will need a hooker as I noticed Ben Kaye unable to use one arm at the end of the game. Shoulder injury recurrence Pellon Boy?
Crowd announced was below 800.
(I see Hull KR ran in another 40+ points today. We will seriously have to up our game next week or it could be a long day at the office.)

| Bit of a disjointed performance Today. Coupled with a knockathon i'm just glad we came out on the right side of the result. As you say, job done. nothing more. A wins a win

I wish I hadn't taken my thrill suppressant pill before the game now.

......but looking like another spell out. Holding his arm after the game. RM saying on Radio Leeds, hand injury, but looked to me like Ben was signalling arm. Possible break?

| Not a good game at all we gave them far too much ball but on the positive side we defended well again although they did not offer a lot, lots of changes to the team so understandably
we were not firing on all cylinders its a win and we are in the hat for the next round.

Not shoulder LTD, suspected broken wrist but swelling too high to get a decision yesterday. Going back for a scan today to see if anything conclusive can be seen.

How far off is AOB. I would get Mat Wilkinson back in. He give us speed which we lack

| Sounds like a solid but unspectacular win. We should be blowing teams like Hunslet off the park. Our attack is misfiring and hopefully we will see a improvement when the weather improves (wishful thinking) . How do you expect to increase crowds ? Why dual reg when we have a reserve setup?

Was quite tedious to be honest, both sides hardly completing and a picky ref, with his own version of playing the mark rule,is that last thing you need in wet weather games.

| Leeds away, even on the false gates they would publish might make the club a bit of money and better to lose to them rather than some Championship team away from home.

| A game I shall remember for a long time, Brian Cloough would have been proud of both sides for keeping the ball on the deck as much as they did. Well done to our youngsters though, genuinely, they look physically and mentally up to it, and their enthusiasm should give our seniors a kick up the arris.
After some discussion im now of the opinion we would be best served getting an easy tie, collecting some prize money, then drawing a big club in the next round. While an away day in headingley and a few pints has merits, travelling away to Wigan or Saints and getting spanked by 60 doesn't appeal to me, getting a big club down the shay and attracting a few more stay away fans back, along with a decent travelling army would be spot on IMHO. So it's Leeds at home in the 6th round that would be my favoured sequence.
I wonder how many draws it would take to make this happen? Perhaps Toronto at home may get us some good coverage, people might remember we actually have an RL side called Halifax RLFC they can go and watch.

Feels like the club is retreating in on itself and is slowly dying eh?

The club will never die. I appreciate these are difficult times but there have been worse including that where our first win was at Huyton away (and yes I was there!) We may yet sneak 4th place this season unlikely as it may seem, onwards and upwards

I don't know if its as terminal as it sounds but we are definitely cutting our cloth accordingly. Focusing on the reserves is no bad thing, people aren't born 1st teamers etc
To an outsider though it must surely feel as if its on its a55, and I wouldn't blame anyone for not being interested, I keep banging on that Fax TV, while a nice idea, it is only something we should be doing. I go to opposition club websites more than my own now, that's a bad thing.
I think they need to readdress the policy on who gets access to interviews and highlights, we need to be putting it out there, not closing ranks and getting a bunch of die hands to give an extra £3.99, if we were in SL I would consider it worthwhile, at this level who is going to pay £3.99 to watch some muddy rugby on their laptop. Barring a couple of dozen, I would guess most were at the game. Theyre not quite up to speed on this, theyre a few years behind.
I'd much prefer them to open it up, and show people in the town that the rugby can be very entertaining, and its on their doorstep, people will come, but while we don't have a David Brook we cant be closing ranks. A few Facebook feeds don't cut it in this day and age, they got lost in amongst fake news and people making Chocolate Brownies and telling us what their poop smelt of afterwards.
Even tries or highlights would be a start, leave the full match to premium members.
