| Regardless of how it might affect us this is a loophole in the law that needs shutting off. Will this affect the jobs of those who work for Reactive Media?
Oh, and will we get invited to the wedding? And will he have a brass band playing the wedding march?

| A new company has been set up operating from same premises with same staff.
The problem may be that Fax shares, if Reactiv still own some, could be seen as an asset and sold off or given to creditors of liquidated company to cover debts...

Looks like Reactiv still holds the shares. Depends on how the liquidating game has been played by Tony Abbott whether all assets of Reactiv have been transferred to his new company through a deal struck with the liquidators. He may have felt the shares were worth nothing and more hassle than they are worth in which case they will remain an asset of Reactiv. It will be up to the liquidator to sell them to get the best return for the creditors of Reactiv but they are pretty much worthless given that club has no major assets - stadium, training ground, etc.

| Shares in a rugby club are worth pretty much diddly squat.
It is a loophole that needs looking at I agree. So many businesses seem to roll from one name to another simply to avoid paying bills which makes it look even worse on those that genuinely go belly up from unavoidable circumstances.

| I am concerned that somebody who has so many shares at the club can do such a thing. I guess we are lucky that the club has no assets and the shares are worthless. Personally if this is true, I am not too happy with somebody like this being the major shareholder. But I guess there is little us or the board can do. It would be good for Mr Abbott to make a statement on this and if in anyway the club shares are affected in some way. We all make mistakes and sometimes look to cut corners etc. But this alleged news, goes way beyond that and could damage the club in some way.

| I may be wrong but I think share holdings in companies such as fax or fcht or irrelevant unless having a majority so I don't think there is cause for concern.
Before htafc went bump, the supporters trust was the second largest shareholder but had little or no influence.

| Is the club listed? Are the shares a part of this? Obviously there are legal issues here that could cause issues and somebody needs to ensure the club are on the ball with this.

| Oh dear some people got him right and many of us got him badly wrong, he took us in and this is not good reading, glad he is no longer our major sponsor and I hope we distance the club from him now this is arrogance on a huge proportion.

| We are not a squeaky clean club. Suppose most clubs aren't, for example Sheffield, that pay full time contracts and play on a school field.
Dare I say it, shareholders and sponsors seem to be using RL clubs to launder money or to receive Tax breaks

Not sure what Sheffield have to do with one of your shareholders making a fortune out of being an utter nuisance, just be glad you didn't let him buy your ground or you would be on a sports field as well.

| To be fair the FC Halifax Town fans smelt a rat long before we did. We have to be grateful they stopped the purchase of The Shay. We can only hope now that the demise of Reactiv, one of our major shareholders, doesn't affect the club in any way.
Let's hope relations between the two sets of supporters can improve now....

| Also wondering if, as a result of the company going bankrupt, are we one of their creditors? It would be bloody annoying if after having their name emblazoned across our shirts we found out they didn't even pay for it.
Wondering if Chevinedge will also be renamed in the wake of this news?

It was never a case, initially, of smelling a rat. It was genuinely about the risks of the stadium falling into the hands of private individual, whoever it was. I think the rat smelling was caused by the ridiculous way that Tony Abbott, the Council and rugby club handled the bid. I dont doubt some of the opposition by supporters of the football club was due to it being a director of Fax who was behind the bid but the main concern was over private ownership.
I think those who opposed it were quickly vindicated given the unfortunate break down of Tony Abbott's marriage and then the problems with the business practices of Reactiv. God knows what would have happened to the stadium had Reactiv managed to buy it and it become an asset of that business.
My personal biggest regret is the deeper damage it has done to relations between the two clubs and its supporters. There was some pretty horrible mud slinging that went on - between both sides. Town fans were accused of being Luddites, I had my home address posted on here (which wasnt removed by the overzealous moderators) and some nasty comments were made against Tony Abbott.
It all became a bit too personal though it proves the affection we all have for our respective teams. I really do hope that its now consigned to history and that lessons are learned on all sides.

I would be 99.9% sure that the club will not be out of pocket to TA, infact I would be amazed if it weren't the other way around by quite a lot of money.

Not much chance of that freddie. If it wasn't TA/Reactiv the Town morons would find another reason to hate Fax. That said, it is only a few of them gobbing off on't social media. Most Town fans I know are really good lads.

Bit over the top - but if you have any suspicions that any of the money is derived from illegal activities you need to be reporting it to the peelers.
