| Sheffield have just announced theyre going full time next year. Someone must be backing them with serious money, their crowds certainly cant afford that!
Wonder if any of their players will become available who want to keep their other jobs, theres a good few Id take.

| I feel jealous - given what has been achieved with a part-time squad by Richard this year, imagine what he could do with the lads if they were full-time. Fair play to our players who have increased their training this season for no extra money but I suspect this is the limit of what they can do when they have to hold down other jobs. Their commitment to Richard and the club has been brilliant - it would be nice to reward them with full-time contracts.

| How on Gods Earth are they affording that with 500 fans and ever changing grounds? Do they know something we don't?
Here's hoping they don't overstretch themselves....

| I wouldnt worry too much as I think a lot of their players were full time this season. Id rather have the cream of the part time players rather than the cheaper end of the full time scale. Saying that I wouldnt expect them to change their team too much for next season similar to ourselves and will just be looking to add some extra quality.

| Being full time doesn't mean your going to be a dominant team in a league or indeed our league. Look at London! A club needs a decent fan base. 30 odd years the Eagles have been in Sheffield existence and their local fan support is lower then
Ever. Maybe they need to put their money into some PR.aybe a coach that seems approachable and friendly.

| Not sure how much a Championship player gets a season but younger lads could be part time on 20 odd grand possibly so could be effectively full time but on nowhere near the salaries of SL players.

| Will Sheffield (and you guys) not qualify for significantly more of the Sky pot, as a result of being top 4 this season?

Minimum £500k for us next season (maximum £250k for 5th downwards). As has been reported elsewhere, some of this will be available for first team players, but the main thing that this will mean for next year is that we can run a reserve grade and start developing our own local talent again.

I wonder if there will be sponsorship opportunities for the reserve grade just like the under 20's or whatever it ended up as.
You would have thought so and if it was reasonable any who could afford to would give a big boost to help swell the funding.
What about the club asking the question early to get an idea of the support for this, maybe get some type of promise or pledge, or is it a daft idea, I do get them.

| Sheffield players have been mostly FT anyway but still got smashed by our PT Players. I dont think it will improve Sheffield that much to be honest. People think being FT will bring success and make the squad so much better. But if the Training is not Quality stuff and the Players get bored then is it really worth it? And is it better to have the Top PT Players or the average/not so good FT Players that often are not as good as the best PT Players anyway! I am glad that RM and the Club are staying PT and we are not just throwing Money away hoping to be a FT Team. Fair Play if Sheffield, Bradford, Leigh, London think being FT will bring them SL and that they can afford it. But I doubt for what it costs to be FT in the Championship, will bring the required results. I look at Salford for example and I cant see the justification for many of them being FT players-they are there just to collect the Money no matter what.
