To all those who regularly congratulate FCHT on their results, this is what we get in return:
www.theshaymen.net/ipb/index.php ... -dewsbury/
Now I'm not suggesting that we lower ourselves to their level, rather that we just show no interest at all in their results as they are totally irrelevant.

| I wouldn't worry about it, it's only a few guys with a chip on their shoulder. There's a huge number of fans like myself who support both clubs through thin and thinner.
I agree that the Fax board haven't covered themselves in glory in the past and the last few years;the same can be said of previous Town BOD's though. I support both the Shaymen and Fax and it's great to see the Shaymen doing so well under Aspin, what a fantastic job he's doing and long may it continue.
All this 'is it a Rugby/football town etc' is ballacks from the past.......zzzzzz

| Theres actually some guys on there you can have a decent conversation with but none of them are posting in that thread. In that thread its like a whos who of people who physically hate Halifax RLFC.
Ive said on there and on here that the cubs do need to work together in some areas, especially when it comes to pushing the council to make better use of the Shay. That is a must but with relationships at an all time low you have to question if that can ever happen.

I'll tell you why i've always supported Leeds Utd shall i ?
I was born in 1964 & in my childhood years they were a very successful team, that sort of thing tempts you in doesn't it ?
In my time watching them, i've seen them play in various european competitions, including being in attendance at the champions league semi final not many years ago. I've seen them win what is now called the Premiership league, again, not many years ago and if you Halifax RL fans like your drama, Leeds Utds' can rival and multiply anything your history can throw up.
And for all you know my friend, I could have been born in super Leeds, therefore that wouldn't make them "another city's football club"
On the subject of footy, your HTFC/FCHT whatever you're called now, provided a marvellous piece of transfer business by selling Vardy on. Yesterday he made very many footy fans very happy, THANK YOU

And what would that solve?
All season our marketing department have banged the drum for #onetown or #onefax. Surely this should also include FCHT who are part of our town and indeed our stadium. Yes the relationship between the two clubs and sets of fans in't the best, but as ha already been shown, there are plenty who support both. FCHT are doing fantastically well, and a successful Football club can only be good for the Town and therefore the Rugby club, I'm sure this would be the case if it was the other way round too.
For the past 16 years there have been bickering between the two sides, some justified, some just petty and childish. It's the same with other sharing clubs I bet, Wigan, Hull for example. However we've shown that when we do come together as 'one town' we can make great things happen. The night we marched from the Shay to Town Hall to protest about the running of the Shay, when the Shaymen got to the play-off final at Leicester and when we've got to Grand/NRC Finals, there have been plenty of the other sport's fans cheering for a HALIFAX team.
There will always be banter between the two sets of supporters as there is between Football and Rugby generally, but I feel we just need to move on from the 'they said this so we should do that' mentality and the silly Chinese whispers environment of the rent situation and the purchase of the Shay.
I'm not a Football fan really and I don't go and watch FCHT but I always look out for their results and want them to do well because I support HALIFAX. I think it's time we drew a line, both sides showed a bit more transparency and we move on together to success on and off the field and success of our Town.

Why do I need to justify it? I don't ask you to justify the "rugby town" rubbish that some Fax fans come out with.

It was over the Council's decision to sell the Shay...not over the running of the stadium. Another reason why some FCHT supporters take glee over the way Fax has gone the last few years given how Mr Abbott handled his bid for the stadium and how some Fax supporters changed their opinion and wanted the council to now sell.
