| What irritated me slightly about the draw was,we are the holders, the draw was at the Shay but the 1st person they interviewed was sour face Powell

| Well if your coach isn't there they can't interview him Regarding the venue it's a joke playing it at the shay surely you would like it at a neutral ground if you get there it's all part of the occasion been somewhere different and the way you are playing you will probably get there

| It makes more financial sense for rugby league as a whole to play it at a RL venue. Same with the grand final been at Leigh, once the work at Fev is done there's a possibility they may host games like this in the future, buddies cup (as was) was contested there wasn't it?
But yes it will take the edge off. Won't be a grand day out like the past few years

Problem was Blackpool AFC were charging an excessive amount for the ground, I read a figure of £60k for the ground and policing, so there's not much left on a gate of 8K.

Totally agree that the finances have to stack up but it's tough to believe that there weren't other options.

Personally,as a fax fan,it does take the edge off.A final should always be at a neutral
ground.I even enjoyed going to Widnes for a relegation final with York.Maybe play both
finals at Leigh this year(only joking Charlie !)

| I would prefer it to be played on a neutral traditional R/L ground but finances as always dictate the choices available,im sure we all have preferences

| I think most Fax fans think it is wrong but we didn't make the decision so Powell might as well pipe down.
May be they thought we should n't be using Halliwell Jones as it is the home ground of half the Swinton team.

| I don't see anything wrong with the Shay. Make a weekend of it, there is a brand new Premier Inn Hotel with a Wetherspoons near by. Why not stay at "The Old Post Office" pub and Hotel. Early morning breakfast at Wetherspoons (just like we do at Blackpool) move on to, well the choice is yours. Ring o Bells, 3 Pigeons, The Shears, The Pump Room, might even get to the match.
Rail links perfect, bus service excellent. Superb ground with friendly locals and excellent staff.
Where else, can provide that, within the budget that can be afforded.
Leigh, miles from civilisation, only the Leigh East bar nearby.
Doncaster, miles from civilisation, no bars nearby.
Dewsbury?
Etc etc.
Don't get me started by suggesting Sheffield, which ground, we wouldn't know till 2 weeks before, and they are both dung heaps, same for the pubs.
No the Shay, you know it makes sense.

| I think it's great being at the Shay. It means that if we get to the final it will be like a home tie. What's not to love about that? I might even stay at my folks and get bladdered at the aftermatch celebrations in Liquid. Or the Acca .
