1st- Scott Murrell looked class last night and a real leader.
2nd- Adam Robinson is not a big name player like say Barlow or Ambler but gets through a mountain of work and always gives 100%. Last night he was giving Sheffield a real tough time and even with a heavy pitch he was looking for work all the time.
3rd- Ambler great work rate and metres. Another consistant showing and for me should be in SL still.

Handforth was good last night as was the all the forwards. Disappointing with the defence and awareness at times. Thackray just doesnt seem to fit for me. I know the pitch was heavy but i would have liked to see quicker play the balls and Thackray and Ashall brothers making more metres and run at the bigger forwards and make then work in the middle and tire them out more. We dominated but were to slow and not thinking enough to take advantage. We should really have beaten Sheffield by more

Rikki and Ryan, Rob, Patto were solid at the back with no one having a bad game really.

Difficult conditions, second half we went more down the middle and had some dominance with field position.

I know we won't want the down the middle stuff all the time and i am sure we will play a more expansive game when conditions allow but it's good to know that we can do so when required and come out on top against one of the biggest packs in our division.

Overall a good result against a tough and dangerous Eagles side.

Need to back it up next week where there will be more of the same up in Cumbria.

Murrell - Look good, showed vision, sign of more to come.

Ambler - Worked hard and took a good share of ball.

Worrincy - Dropped ball early on but thought he took up a lot of ball and made some good ground.

Thought Tonks looked better than last season but still have big doubts about the halves.

Could only watch the 1st half, my MOM would have been Bracek or Ambler.
Doesn't sound like I missed too much 2nd half....great win though.

Rikki was poor and was sleeping for the second. Wasnt ideal conditions but I expected more to be honest. Rob gave away a string of needless penalties and made a real blunder early on. Patto was quiet really but that was expected as it was a forwards game. Lack of imagination at times and some really poor kicks. Still we won.

It was not a great spectacle last night on a heavy pitch and first competitive game up for both teams although Sheffield tired second half, the feeling around me was that if this was later in the season Sheffield would have won, they were more creative with the ball although fell away second half and struggled to get yardage mostly down to some good Fax defence which was a pleasing part of the game for me. We are not creating enough for me the forwards are doing their part but it was up and smash 'em stuff, we still need a stand off and centre who passes!

This must be the most ridiculous comment I have ever read on here. And that's saying something, believe me.

Meaning they were rusty and faded second half as lack of match practice finally told, the point is they CREATED more than we did with the ball in hand it was as KH says our pack that won it, we battered them then held firm in defence. How many times did we actually look like getting over their line yet we had loads of possession in their 20 especially in that second half. Have you forgotten how many line breaks they made, their full back and wingers looked dangerous?
But its our first 'proper' game against the current Champions so I am happy its a good result!

Aye, 'tis true mate, I was invited by a sponsor & had a cracking night. I think we rolled out of Circle lounge in town about 1.30am ish ( ??? ) after turning down the opportunity one of our local players offered us to go to a different town centre bar with the delights of Keith Senior & that Harry Potter bloke.
