As was mentioned above, so long as it wasn't said in a statement to the media, no problem. That was Calland's big mistake.

i'd imagine similar things have been said in the Widnes camp over the past few seasons.

I'd be more interested in what the the thinking at Teams like Widnes, Broncoquins, Salford, Wakefield ect is at this time of year.

If a coach and a squad of players said anything different, no matter who I supported, I would be disappointed. They are not saying they are the best team by a country mile, they are saying that they have belief in each other that they can win everything.

not a good start though with haley and barlow out for 3 months and aziue out for a while too.

Karl suggested last night that Jim Gannon was being spoken to. but as part of the youth coaching set up.

No harm in having confidence but would prefer them saying we are hoping to win the lot not will, that will be used against us next year.

To be fair the content of the original post is just that they aim to win it all, which is the aim every year at Halifax so it's kind of a redundant point anyway as VikingMan points out. I presume the thread title isn't a direct quote off anyone.
