Not that I know of no, I went on the Burleigh Bear website a week or so back and then there was no mention of the visit over here.I wonder who else they are playing as I wouldn`t mind taking in another game.

Jolly boys outing to watch their fellow nationals splatter everyone else in the 4-nations ?

Burleigh had planned a players trip to England to hopefully catch some 4 nations (which unfortunately they won't) and contacted a number of clubs back in May - including Halifax - to see if anyone was interested in a game.

We saw this as the perfect opportunity for James' match and therefore made contact and finalised details. They arrive here next Tuesday and stay for 12 days, staying in Leeds and London apart from the one night in Halifax next Friday.

They're hoping to take in a premiership match but won't be playing anyone other than the James Haley XIII.

We are covering some of their expenses whilst in Halifax, and giving them a good night out at Liquid afterwards (free admission for match ticket holders!), but apart from that they are happy to be playing and supporting James, and hoping we can build a relationship as clubs.

Top people who we are looking forward immensely to meeting.

I have kept checking this posting re` more info on the night but as yet not seen anything. We have booked for a meal but have as yet not had tickets so I am presuming that we may be able to pick them up on the night. If so what time does the meal start and what is on the menu and what will be the format for the night?

As I have dietry restrictions I emailed the club to find out what the menu would be, but I was told that the club wasnt organising it and I should email James's testimonial committe. I did this but didnt receive a response at all, so just going to the game.

informaton regarding the game is as follows: Diners as usual get car parking and starting meal at 6pm in preparation fo the legends kick off at 6.30pm. For non diners the bar opens at 5.30pm. Meal consists of Starter - Tomato&basil Soup, Main - Chicken on crushed potatoes and veg, Dessert - Vanilla cheesecake and berries. (veggie option and childrens menu available) Main game kicks off at 8pm, with few old faces making an appearance - not to be missed!! tickets can be boought on the night at gates as per usual games

I believe they are here because on April 1st someone told them it never rains in England in October!

I Hope that the Bears players are good at shaking off big hangovers ! as they were well enjoying the Pubs in Leeds yesterday and I had A chat with there hooker Travis Cook and he said they were really looking forward to the match.....

Looking at the team sheet and write up in the Courier it would appear Ben Black isn't playing?? Anyone know why? Have Batley dug their heels in or has he flown home?? Thought he would have played TBH

Why not the main game? I thought the curtain raiser was a legends touch game?? Not everyone will see that with work etc and seems strange when all the talk earlier was Blacky using the game as his opportunity to say goodbye?

You'll have to ask Ben that. It's his decision.
