Comedy gold. Their inferiority complex is bordering on funny. Cant blame them though for been jealous of their more ilustrious neighbours, the mighty Fax.

I think what annoys people is the perception you have of yourselves as being a 'big club', which in everyone else's eyes other than your own, you are not.

There is no deference towards Halifax from Batley of indeed any other club I can think of. I'm 35 and Halifax have been, other than one fire alarm inspired Grand Final victory, mediocre in my memories.

What I do remember (and these are all factually correct) is you attaining just 3 points in a SL season, a last minute win in a play off against York to avoid further relegation, begging buckets at the Shay and being booted out of the Challenge Cup for fielding an ineligible player.

This season you'll be remembered for not being overly gracious when rejected for SL, and then it coming to light that your helicopter-delivered application was so wide of the mark that it couldn't actually be judged upon by KPMG.

Having looked at Wikipedia for two minutes, your last real success in the 'big league' was a quarter of a century ago, and was followed by non payment of players, transfer embargo's due to financial mismanagement, nearly going into liquidation and the proceeds of selling the Shay (for £1.5 million) being sucked into paying off debt rather than redeveloping a council owned ground.

To put it simply, no one understands why you've got such a massive opinion of yourselves.

Well every single thing you have written is actually known by fax fans so your bleeting is a bit insignificant. The thread on the Batley forum was started and continued by Batley fans who completely misunderstood the thread on our forum. It IS about where we think the final should be held NOT that we should/will win everything and comments are made by fans of other clubs as well.

Anyway why shouldn't our fans be optimistic and confident about the season ahead?

Halifax are a bigger and better club than Batley IMO.

Only cheese rollers would be jealous off, poor crowds, a certain amount of what seems bitter fans( Harold shandy bass ). We get further in most cups, playoffs and leagues, have been to 3 finals in 3 years, poached you coach and players, because they want to be at a bigger better club. Can attract good sponsors and people like noble.

We will ALWAYS be better than Batley, because I am a fax fan first and foremost!.

Exactly!! I don't care about there opinions, I am excited about running away with the league next year and getting the treble, we can then build for SL in the knowledge we have already been told we are in, we can then cherry pick a few of kears signings to a bigger better club. All this whilst Batley and dewsbury chew chunks off each other, they will never notice because they are just a speck of dust in the RL world and we are on par with top NRL teams.

The thing is if your gonna act with a bit of arrogance taking their best players off them and saying 'their alright' despite finishing 3 spots above you, naturally their gonna be a bit peeved... Same with Sheffield fans previously tbh!

I can understand why Batley dislike Fax as they are arrogant.Wonder if Fax with 2100 averages are within the cap.The players they have signed will want the wonga.

What has Batley achieved? You won a Cup that is treated by many as a joke even coaches. Now looking at the record over the last 25 years Fax are easily the most successful side outside of SL. Infact even looking at the past 5 years with 3 Final appearances and a win we are with Featherstone the most successful sides.

So Crowd wise Fax in the past 5 years alone have been one of the big clubs regarding attendances whilst Batley struggle to get more than a 1000. That means Fax have more money coming in through the gate!

If ail to see how Batley fans can get so upset when their club has not won or even reached as many finals as Fax have and never will. Batley get around half the crowd Fax do and have far less money as well yet they seem to think Halifax are not bigger than themselves. Try looking at the facts that Halifax alongside Featherstone are the most powerful clubs on and off the field in this league with Widnes gone. The likes of Batley are smaller and will remain so as Featherstone and Halifax are simply bigger clubs with more power and pull in way bigger crowds and sponsorship money. Batley fans get that chip off your shoulder and enjoy your most successful period since probably 100 years ago!

Mate I know your the bigger club.Fax,Leigh and Fev have the most fans now.But I think Leigh will be not as strong next year.I think Fax look the strongest.

Fev first then Fax at the moment. Settled team and coaching system. Only lost 3 games in the League in the past 2 seasons. Fax are still for me some way behind Fev both on and off the field. Fev have a very successful youth system in place as well. Then there is daylight to Batley and Sheffield who are still some way behind Fev and Fax in many areas

Thank God it's not just me who can't stand them. They pontificate about how well run they are with their 500 fans and $hihole of a ground, no reserve team and no hope except survival.

And got knocked out of the playoffs by a team not only below them in the league ladder but on on their own turf as well.

As for Graeme Smith's comments, well, all the negativities that you speak of are true but being a fan of a club that's overcome those obstacles gives one a certain thick skin. I dare say that overcoming the bad times you speak of has made us stronger as a group of fans and as a club in general so the 'arrogance' that you mentioned I think is a belief that we can do well no matter what. I think a certain section of your support is arrogant because all of a sudden all of these people have seen it fit to slag everyone else of just because you've finally become competitive on the pitch in the last couple of seasons.

Good luck to Batley (and I genuinely mean that) but don't mistake arrogance for pride in the badge, keep your whining to your kintting circle and we'll let what happens on the pitch do the talking next season
