Did I miss something yesterday?

The match report on the clubs website says he was sin-binned early in the second half. From where I was sat it looked pretty much like a blood bin, in fact didn't he just get patched up and straight back on?

From what I remember he came off got his head wrapped up changed his shirt and went straight back on.I might be wrong but as blood bins now count as a substitution I don`t think they used it.

That's exactly as I saw it. Certainly not a sin-bin as reported.

He was put on report though, was he not?

I think a Blood Bin only counts as a substitution if the player is replaced, basically when shown the card, the player must leave the field for treatment. Jim was quickly taped up, put a clean shirt on and returned, so shou;dn't have counted as a replacement

He certainly wasnt sin binned.

Thought I'd come in to apologise/defend myself. I got it wrong, the Gannon sin-binning wasn't originally in the report but it appeared on the website I use to double check my stats so it was a last minute entry. The problem I have with away games is that Fax do not provide access to the press area as they do for Home games. It isn't a problem with teams like Leigh and Widnes but against the Hunslets and Batleys of the world it is more difficult. Hence I am restricted to taking notes on my Blackberry.

This is no excuse however, and now I think back I remember the Gannon blood bin quite vividly and remember him being placed on report. I just second guessed myself after seeing the sin bin on the stats. All I can do is make sure it doesn't happen again against Batley.

Oh and one last note, I was surrounded by Hunslet fans who were using the most appalling language in front of my two younger brothers so I celebrated the final try rather exuberantly, winding up said fans in the process.

This seems a bit excessive. I dont recall seeing the incident, was it that bad that it deserved a match ban?

I read that JG had been given a 1 match ban on twitter earlier

Confirmed. 1 match ban. He'll be Ok to play against Sheffield/Widnes then...

Did he get off?

The club decided not to appeal - so Jim will be missing tonight.

The panel said that the incident although not on purpose could have caused injury and in their opinion Jim had enough time to pull out of the contact.

Hopefully though it will not be the last we see of him as he is hoping to play on next year. Personally I think he as another year in the blue and white.

Plus with the glass half full attitude, we could see him play against either Widnes or Sheffield.

Jim was gutted not to be playing - but he did say that training had gone well and the team did seem very focuseed- so fingers crossed we can have a run in the playoffs.

I was also talking to a Batley fan last night and he is of the opinion that its too close to call if both teams turn up.

Thought we should have appealed originally but with my 'glass half full' head on they may have given him another match for appealing so by not appealing he will be available for next playoff game.
