Just reading an interview with Mike Riley who says that the club has just about given up hope about getting awarded a franchise. What has gone on? Before Widnes were awarded their franchise there was lots of media attention on our bid, Santa delivering the bid etc etc but in the lead up to this decision there has been nothing. I know there has been other things to occupy time like the NRC final but the club should really have been pushing and building up our chances of getting a franchise. Riley even goes on to say the club would feel guilty if 2 teams got kicked out of SL. WTF? We should have been shouting from the roof tops how good our bid is and how good it is compared to some SL team bids and on probably less than a quarter of the income that they have.

Defnatley some strange decisions at the club at the moment. Have the board decided they dont want SL? What has gone on with MC? The club have had their chance to get rid of him a couple of times in the past but decided against it. They ask him to take a pay cut, which he does, then gets us to yet another final and trys to negotiate a new contract only to be told they wont be renewing it. Great you got us to and won the Grand Final but do you mind us cutting your playing budget and your wage? No? Thats fantastic and getting us to another final under those conditions well done, oh and by the way you wont be coaching us next season but feel free to call down the Shay anytime you like. Theres no romance in the sport now, imagine Batley at the moment, if promotion and relegation was still in, how great would it be to have a club like Batley challenging for a super league spot. 2 down, 2 up, or at least 1 down, winner of grand final up.

decision will be known to the club by now.We've probably been told to accept it with dignity and next time the criteria will be in line to accomodate our bid.If we make the wrong noises we'll never have a chance.

If indeed he has come out and said they have pretty much given up hope then i am astonished that someone in his position would come out and say that before the announcment.

Do you see the team giving up ?. NO...What a defeatest attitude that is......Its a good job the fans and supporters dont follow suit and do the same and not bother attending as they have given up hope of the SL dream.

That really has angered me now to be honest, Is he reading the Des Johnson book on how to run a club ?. It appears so at the moment, Coach gone without explination, No one knows if Noble has gone or not and the rumours that him and Calland Fell out.

less than 24 hours before the announcement and the playoffs still to play for and we as fans are clueless as what the clubs asperations now are !.

it does seem strange that they put sooooooo much effort into pushing the bid, and since the last announcment nothing.

i didnt buy the Rugby Leaguer this morning as i usually do, but if it was worded like that it makes it very difficult to get exited about anything HLRFC for the forseeable future.

i suppose one decision was bringing in a respected coaching consultant who has helped raised fitness and the attitude about work rates in defence? Can't see that as an action of a club giving up, didn't this bring a large amount of positive media exposure?

Personally, to see carney slam our application as "no chance" on live TV with no response from any of the other TV pundits showed how difficult it is to progress to SL without a multi-miilionaire backer.

I would like to say whatever happens that I am so proud of the fantastic effort by everyone at the club to get us to the position we are in and to tick all the boxes asked of us is is fantastic everyone involved in running the club and the supporters trust I salute you

. However it seems that sadly ticking all the boxes and doing everything you can to get into the super League including winning the Championship last season will not be enough and that certificate we have is not worth the paper it is written on. The RFL are a set of baffons with their own agenda and sadly I don't think that agenda includes Halifax RLFC and to make things worst Wakefield (if it is them that come down) will be given every advantage possible to get back up in 3 years time I will put my life on it that they will have a full time playing squad next season. They will be a lot of sad people from around the Rugby League community when as we expect Halifax are not promoted as lots of fans from Super League have said how much they want Halifax back up. The whole system is a farce and I will feel robbed by a set of conmen come 11am tomorrow unless a miracle happens. So to the Halifax RLFC BOD I applaud you on such a amazing effort

I don't think that was to do with SL bid, I think that was about survival this year, Matt was clearly struggleing with the concept of tackling. Brian came in and it changed immediately, Sunday, no coaching staff, no tackles.

It's sad to see Matt go as watching fax these 3 years have been brilliant. However we must stop teams scoring first and foremost and Brian got em doing it. Now nobody seems to know what is going on except the opening thread suggests the club have given up hope.

It was only last week when the club told everyone be on best behaviour as SL are watching and don't want dampeners on our bid.

Who is lying ?.

Come season end I may have a year off putting credits in this merry go round.

But probably not, how would I cope without the adrenaline rush that following fax gives.

What I find interesting about the 'independent' selection panel that will decide on the franchises is that Nigel Wood and Richard Lewis are on it. Hardly an independent selection panel is it?

They just make the rules as they go along just to suit them. Does anyone know if the announcement will be on any radio stations so I can listen to what cack comes out of Richard Lewis's mouth?

Radio Leeds are supposed to be doing some coverage but it will only be rhino and bullers are in, Cas have scrapped in and BOO HOO Wakey are down.Fax will get a mention that we ain't in and then the rest of the time will be about how good the other applications were.SL don't want us and Radio Leeds treat anything that happens in Halifax as an after thought.
