Was anyone else at that game at Headingley back in the late 70's ?
The K9 match on the BBC versus Leeds when Ken ( K9 ) Spencer lost the plot with the stray pooch, funny episode.
I'm led to believe that the dog entering the field of play saved a certain Taffy Lewis from getting his marching orders, but that might just be a rumour. |

The most blatant offence today went unpunished mostly and that was Bulls markers at PTB not standing square, OK, they got away with it but that doesn't make it right.
I thought Bentham was awful today.

Ditto!! If your going to be bad be consistently bad for both sides! The forward passes and holding downthat went unpunished for the Bulls was laughable!! Especially when in the next set of six we would get pinged for the same offence!! A disgrace |

Bentham was shocking today, 3 forward passes in one set although he gave the third pass as forward and the shocker in front of the sticks where the bulls player blatantly threw the ball at the play of the ball and the ref gave it as interference at the rook, we were never gunna win but we gave it a good shot and i was pleased with the outcome, could have been closer IMO.

Forward passes are down to the Linesmen-Childs was one today and he was his usual useless blind self. Bentham missed forward passes, but thats the norm now in Rugby League as Stuart Cummins obviously doesnt think there is a problem and neither do his guys as they never blow up. Fax were penalized twice for alleged ripping the ball out , yet Bradford did the same with two men in the tackle-Ignored. Finally he saw that the Dulls were just losing the ball-even the BBC made a comment on it.
The standard of the match officials-not just the Referee is a joke. We have now Coaches like Richard Agar saying it but he just gets fined and the same problems remain as Stuart Cummins just ignores it and pushes through young guys who have little idea and often have never played the game. Forward passes dont exist anymore. Until Cummins is replaced then things will stay the same
