This year I have watched more rugby than usual, having paid for sky on my computer. for the last few years I thought that Halifax were hard done by always getting the poor officials. I now see that it is every official that is bad. Some more so than others. I once refereed football at an OK standard. Having reffereed at local level when I was promoted I was told to throw the book away and ref as I was told in this division. Is this the case in RL if so how is it so inconsistent. I also feel sorry for the Ref sometimes because they are not helped by the linesman who seem to want to give nothing, although their was one decision today that the linesman helped the ref with.

The main thing that the linesman (touch judge) should give is forward passes. something I now think are OK in this day and age and give teams a massive advantage if it is not pulled up. The game would be so much better if it was refereed more consistently. I think.

Thought the ref yesterday had a decent game. He could have been a bit keener on holding down but i think overall he did quite well.

I think the ref did okay, he was fairly anonymous, but his touch judges could have given him a bit more help. No sour grapes here (we were beaten by a better team all over the park) but I have never seen so many forward passes in a game, most un-noticed by the touchies, even the fans around me in the East stand got fed up of shouting "Forward" and just accepted that this particular rule wasnt going to be picked up today....

Yes bob, i commented myself that the fwd pass rule was not in play yesterday, at least he was consistant in not giving them for etither side

The ref yesterday liked his whistle, but he was fair. And! he was usuing his linesmen much more than any other ref i've seen which was nice to see.

Decent match commissioner on duty yesterday too from what I hear...........

Serious question for those in the East stand as you would have the better view than us in the South.

Leigh winger Dean McGilverry touched down in the first half and it was ruled out for offside. I have watched it again on Blip tv but it does not show clearly wether he was or not. What did you think ?

OK it was early, I was trying to put a point across before going to work and I feel I didn't make it well.

My complaint isn't at the refs, and I thought the ref yesterday was one of the best I have seen so far.

Having watched a lot of games so far this season, I feel that the touch judges have been told to ignore or not give forward passes as so many happen that to me are blatant. I also feel that they could help in other areas and don't again to me this has to be instructions from the person in-charge. their is also inconsistency between rule interpretations by each official. If some one is in charge of the officials then how hard is it to get them all together and explain the way the rules should be applied, how to use your Touch Judge and how the Touch Judge should help the Ref.

This can only make the game better. I feel it makes the game look second rate sometimes with the inconsistency. I can accept that wrong decisions are made, that's part of the talking points of sport but the inconsistency just makes rugby league look unprofessional.
