Yes i think we would all agree it hasnt been the most convincing starts to the championship and nrc campaigns but a league or cup competition isnt decided in a few games so dont panic!

I seem to remember we didnt start last year on fire with a scratchy win against sheffield and not long afterwards getting beaten by hunslet at home and then dismantled by leigh at home. Didnt look too rosy then either did it but look what we went on to acheive.

Just because the season has started doesnt mean the squad is complete and im sure the coaching staff will recruit if they feel certain areas of the squad need strengthening. Last season we brought in the likes of holroyd, barlow and ostick mid season and im sure this season will be no different.

We are a bit weaker, but i think theres plenty of potential, personally i think Dom Maloney will be a big miss though. Hes far better than Cherryade and Ostick.
Well be fine, a good run in the Challenge Cup, another Grand Final, a trip to Blackpool, all still possible, so what if we lost in France.

Yes we have had a budget cut so it is fair to say we should lower our expectations a little but we can only spend the same amount on players as every other team.

Maloney will be a loss and is better than cherryholme and ostick but some of the comments from people claiming he was the best prop outside super league need to get a grip on reality i feel.

Actually I have to disagree with you there. Dom was in his 20's, had SL experience and still has his best RL years ahead of him. I think albeit far from being the finished article, Dom was indeed the best forward prospect outside of SL.

It wasnt so much a prospect to be but is the best prop outside super league. I preferred matt james to maloney. Dickens , tonks, hill, mcdermott, stringer i would rate better and thats just off the top of my head. There is no doubt dom had potential but best prop outside super league is getting a bit giddy, just my opinion like.

talking of props leads me onto my only concern so far. Ive seen all our games ,bar the Toulouse match , and in the 3 games against pro opposition , only once have our forwards gained an upper hand ; against Oldham when we had 4 props in the 17 including Aizue and Watene . I just think that without those 2 we are too lightweight.

I was on about how we hadn't replaced Dom the other day, Gannon has proved to be a good signing with a string of impressive performances, I wasnt too sure when we signed him, but he's done well, but like someone said to me, he's a good replacement for Wrench, not Dom.

Dom was our enforcer, the sort of player who, if the opposition were getting in our faces, would get back at them, and if needs be rough them up. bit of a hot head, but sometimes thats needed, Tamghart was similar as well, this year we dont have a player like that,
