First an apology. I originally posted this on another forum and was informed by a Haven supporter that this forum would probably be more appropriate.
Additionally, if anyone is aware of the identities of these two Halifax gentlemen (who were traveling with another individual who I believe may have been from Chelsea) please feel free to provide them with my email address of jdraaz@hotmail.com. If they are hardy enough to try this for a third time I'd like to extend greater hospitality with my compliments.
..and my original email:
My compliments to the Halifax fans.
A fan approached me this evening and asked me with a hint of a smile if perhaps God didn't want Whitehaven to play Halifax. My reply was that I'm sure that God loves Rugby League and perhaps other forces were working against us. One of three positives of my evening.
One other was a positive, albeit short, showing on the pitch by our lads.
The final was a rather wonderful encounter with four or five Halifax fans in our Club Bar after the match that wasn't. After a brief exchange I introduced myself and offered to buy them a drink. It was soft drinks around but a pleasant exchange was engaged in regarding who might have won (I of course said Haven..they of course said Fax) and we spoke of the unfortunate loss of seeing two hungry teams meet for full engagement on the pitch.
They encouraged me to visit Fax as an away Director when possible (something I don't indulge in leaving that to the male representatives of the Club) and were, all in all, quite wonderful representatives of your Club.
Two in particular (the first two I shook hands with) are called to mind and on the return trip...and we will pray that this will get done, I would like to invite them to be my guests in the Sponsors' Lounge for the evening. I'm sure if they read this Board they will know who they are...and I'm also sure I'll know who they are when they come to the gate.
Both of these gentlemen were absolute positives for Halifax and if the opportunity comes up for an away game to your home I will make it a point to attend.
Kindest Regards,
J.D. Raaz

| Has to be said I enjoyed the trip, made a day of it and stopped off in Ingleton and Kendal on the way up, as well as having a wander around the marina in Whitehaven.
After the match was abandoned, we stuck around for about an hour, the hospitality and friendlyness from the 'haven fans was as ever, fantastic, and there was a genuine feeling of disappointment that the game had not been able to be played, and people expressing their sorrow for us having travelled.
If, as has been suggested the game is played on March 16th, I'll probably travel again, and I don't think I'll be alone in that.

| We have always been made very welcome at Whitehaven and had fantastic weekends up there with Whitehaven fans. Sadly (or luckily) I could not make the trip Wednesday night due to now being a responsible Dad however if I can get a lift I am hoping to make it up for the game on the 16th as I will book a couple of days off work allowing me to get up to Whitehaven for the game and to also be at home to give Rachel my partner a rest the next day which should allow me to make the trip.

Yer that was us, the other two are Fax exiles living in Cheshire (not Chelsea), sadly I won't be able to take you up on your generous offer as we went the first time around as well so not going up there a 3rd time, sick of the travelling 284 miles in one night is a bit much!
Unless the other lads are going, they may get in touch with you.
Funny thing is I have never been a fan of Whitehaven and their fans but we met the real fans on Wednesday and they were great, thanks.

They're the same ones, completely different in the bar as opposed to when on the terrace, just one of them things.
