Approval is one thing, Bringing it to Fruition is another. Still think they should be down, It has taken them and Castleford 3 years just to get to this stage, So it goes on from here which could be between 6 weeks and 12 months depending on what the government decide, Then there is the Developer, Who are dropping like flies, Over Budgeting and then the inevitable delays. Looks like their annonymous backer will pay the tax man though.
Wakey still coming down

| So if Wakefield, Cas and Salford have new grounds and in theory have done what the RFL want, one of them is actually just getting thrown out for the sake of being thrown out? There's offically no real reason why they [ishould[/i go down. Alright you can argue the toss on who has better finances etc, but they've all got Youth Teams, competitive squads etc now with a modern stadium.

| Ok, but what if mid-Jan all 3 are physically being built?
Granted the numerous 'drawing fiascos' makes everyone skeptical, but it's the RFL that bought those lies, the clubs were just selling them.

Then what happens is a traditional rugby league club gets relegated with no real promise of ever getting promoted again when what should happen is that the worst team(s) in the competition get relegated and the best team(s) should be promoted.
Why should the likes of Castleford, Wakefield or Salford have to be relegated just purely so the RFL can continue the shambles of keeping London/Catalan in the league artificially?

I think you're missing the gag. I don't not agree with you. But if (being the word of the day) they are all up and running it makes it even more a stupid system and a case of 'making it up as they go along'.

There is officially no reason why teams should not go up either becuase they have done what the RFL wanted. Widnes obviously tick all the boxes, Halifax also, Stadium built, On field Performance, Will have Academy side next year, Leigh unfortunatly did not get into a final otherwise they should also be in the same boat, I think that when their stadiums are built then they have to look again as Franchising is then even more unfair than now.
Wakefield however with the Tax problems etc, Yeah i know, A benfactor has come forward to help with the Tax bill, But what happens the next time they end up like this.
If it wasn't for my love and support for HRLFC i would have turned by back on this game 2 years ago.

| Super League board would have hoped that 3 years after seeing CAD drawings and giving them a license on the basis they were building a new stadium they would have wanted all the clubs to have stadiums READY for 2012 if not 2011. Getting outline planning permission means jack so Wakey fans can just calm down. To quote the ex-Liverpool owners, there isn't one spade in the ground yet at any of these place yet (poss Salford?), just more CAD drawings, disgraceful.
The last time the drawings were shown were at last round of applications, all they've done is update them and display them 3 years later, nothing in between. If they can't give assurances they will be ready for kick off in Feb 2012 then boot them out and let the likes of Widnes and Fax in who have grounds completed (exc our North Stand) as SL requested we did.

| Lets get things into focus. The RFL will decide who THEY want in superleague and will bend and manipulate the rules to "promote" them. Look at the last lot of rules.....Leigh didnt get promoted basically because their stadium was unproven......Crusaders didnt even have a stadium!!!!!!! The RFL have stated that one team will be entering Superleague in 2012 (but note the french team doesnt need to meet any criteria as ...they are Frecnch) and they have also stated that there are 3 teams of concern who if they dont make changes will not meet the criteria.
If could be Wakefield down, Toulouse up or it could be Wakefield, Cas & Salford down, Toulose, Widnes and Fax up. Depend on what they feel like doing at the meeting.

That is correct. Although, in my view there were other justifiable reasons why we (Leigh) didn't qualify, the fact is that the RFL stated that Leigh's stadium wasn't finished by franchise 'd-day' and therefore wasn't proven. Surely, they will apply the same 'logic' this time around?

1) When was the last time London finished bottom?
and
2) In the case of Catalans, because they have more fans and a better stadium than all three of the heartland clubs you mentioned. It's their own fault for spending all their money on the playing squad rather than investing some money in their facilities or spending money trying to attract new fans.
I'm in favour of a return to promotion and relegation when we can have a fully professional second tier.

| Franchising has really brought on our international side, we have drawn one and lost one, and theres young half backs lined up left right and centre to put pressure on the world class Robinson and Brown, whats the problem
As for Wakeys stadium, its not like its going to cost millions or anything, and they can knock them up in no time, the shays not taken that long to half finish has it. Wakefield have loads of money and are one huge success story, and Castleford want to build a stadium that could house half the population of the town itself and allow houses to be built next to a chemical plant, its all good business, WMBC are loaded, they can do this with their eyes shut, they have a track record of being the best at virtually building shopping centres and international cricket grounds, no problem i tell you.
