Seemingly the game didn't matter as wasn't for promotion and that they retained their unbeaten away record as wasn't a league game. Also the whole game was decided by just one bounce of the ball and because our props had a rest due to the evacuation. No credit for Worrincy but Zak did brilliant to let him only score in the corner.
A brilliant read...sounds like 'Comical Ali' wrote it.

| I liked the bit about it being only a play off trophy that they could have won and didn't really matter.
Here is what the RFL wrote when Featherstone actually won the league leaders shield.
Quote “I’m sure no-one at Featherstone – or any of the clubs immediately below them – will need reminding that the Co-operative Championship title has still to be won and I'm sure there is a lot of drama yet to unfold between now and the Grand Final on Sunday September 26.”'"

Maybe they did need reminding after all??

| Last time I checked it was league leaders shield not winners? Lol, they are being quite comical with this, you'd think the playoffs only came in this year the way they are acting!

| Was just a day out for the fans and the 'magic box' had already been ticked so didn't matter....it's magic because they would need David Copperfield to magically switch the envelopes when they're announcing the SL licenses for them to get in!
Well done Fax for being the Play Off Trophy winners

"the lack of promotion and relegation removes the main advantage of winning the game"
right! so the coach did not want to win for his CV, the players did not want to win for their personal memories and carrers, the fans did not want to win to complete what has been a fantastic season for Fev! oh the the saml amount of 70k and of cource bragging rights!
i think comical ali did infact write this!

| "A knock on by Patterson was picked up by Zak but as he raced for the line, Mr Hicks ignored the advantage and put the scrum down." I like how they missed Zaks knock on as he tried to pick the ball up which led to the scrum.

| I actually love Fev. Their reluctance to realising they've won naff all this year (‘ooo we waz minor premier championzz ‘) is pleasing and making this all that much better.

| Just how did you expect the game to be reported on a FEATHERSTONE ROVERS website.
Of course it's going to be biased towards the Rovers as I am sure official Halifax reports will be towards Fax.
Just for the record, you will find that the majority of true Rovers fans including myself congratulate you on your great win. It was a truly fantastic comeback. We should have put the game to bed but Fax made us pay for that. At the game I honestly thought that we had been the better side in general, but having watched the game on tv I now feel that Fax dominated for the greater part of the game and fully deserved the win.
AND YES Halifax are the champions.
I do not agree for one minute with the play off format, I have always belived that the team finishing top of the league should be crowned champions and in my eyes the Rovers are just that.
However we knew the rules at the start of the season and history will show that Halifax are the 2010 champions. - Good enough for you ?
PS, sincere best wishes for next year, I hope it is a good a league has it has been this year.

| Who cares? We won and Fev won the League-Both are winners. A Fev report is bound to be biased-same as ours would be. After whats gone on at the weekend I hope that fans from both sides try and show more respect for each other. Some things are more important in life than Rugby.

Many thanks for your congratulations and best wishes, and may I add my commiserations on your team's loss. They played extremely well to soak up all the Halifax pressure and to score 22 unanswered points. Saxton had a blinder, and Hardaker will soon be taken off to SL.
I agree that the Fax website would probably show some bias in their review of the game, but to say by any other means that it was a nothing game with no promotion to be attained through winning is really very sour grapes, indeed. Did the £100000 prize money really mean nothing? As for the fax props having a rest during the 'incident', did not the entirety of both teams get a rest? The report is too one-eyed to be taken seriously, IMO.
I also agree that you should be crowned Champions if you finish top of the league, and without any play-offs.
I would also like to take the opportunity to wish you and your team well for 2011, but not against us.

Bill Authur summed it up perfectly as Extra Time kicked off when he said "The Whole season now comes down to this" which is why its ridiculous, in most sports, if you are consistently the best team and top your league, you are the champions, but not Rugby League.
Why Fev chose to Kick Off i'll never know, they didnt even go for a short kick off, I bet Larder was gutted when we lost the toss as no doubt he'll have remembered what happened at Cas, but when Briggs decided to Kick Off, im sure he was over the moon.

| To be fair apparently Matt Calland was saying we would have kicked off. To expect a team to be able to drive it up 70m at Wire in a tense final is unrealistic and we got 'lucky' with the charge down. Don't forget Wire actually is 100m long whereas Cas is only about 80m and it was a beast of a drop goal.

| The key play for me was Penkys half break without that Fax wouldn't of been in field position for the charged down attempt and Fev would of likely of got some ball!

| Rugby league is a game of eighty one and a half minutes when you're champions on grand final day.
Fev weren't good enough to win it in eighty, 22-4 and they f***** it up.....
The whole season depends on this, Logo for t-shirts anyone ?

Completely agree. Calland made a brave and bold decision to throw on all our playmakers at once and it came up trumps for us.
