Being reading this board for a long time but never registered but finally decided to. I know we have a massive game next week but just wondering what everyones opinions are on our chances next season with our top players seemingly set to leave. Royston gone,patterson off to widnes,few older players retiring etc.Just hope that were not needing to win next week just to have any chance of keeping/getting the better players. Cant wait for sunday though

Paterson and Branighan are both Widnes bound if you believe the voices, im sure your getting on with your own recruitment though.

not sure about branighan but patterson is.Im not one to start rumours just good mates with a Fax player.Just hope they are all focused on the grand final next week and then good luck to them whatever they move on to

Its no secret the club has had a disastrous season finance wise

- Early NRC exit

We will lose some great players and replace with good players, I am not expecting a GF in 2011 as the books will need to be balanced.

As I have posted before Fev game, Fax fans need to savour Sunday as it could be a while before we see so many class players in a fax shirt.

Nobody on here knows what is going on behind the scenes yes we have lost money this year but things could be happening that we do not know about. Martin Hall is back anyway.

Pretty sure that most people have heard this and that but cant we just leave it until next week and not put a downer on our GF preparations. Its bad enough that Shad has gone so lets just focus on Sunday please boys and girls!

Its no secret that the board have been slow offering players contracts for next season. We have one of the best players in the league that wants to stay at the club and has been on at the board for a new contract for ages, so far zip. Unfortunatley the money just isnt there. It dosnt help when the board plan on attendances that were never going to happen. Still the GF may be our saving grace.

Really? Is gossip a substitute for a naff season on the pitch? Class players and grand finals make me tick - Halifax have come up trumps again this year in that department.

Rumours are coming up about our players leaving which are actually coming true but im not hearing any rumours about players possibly joining us. Maybe that is because until after the grand final next week then we dont know what our budget is going to be and like has already been said we will need to balance the books abit. Hopefully we win sunday and can get key players signed up and back them up with some quality signings from elsewhere so we have another good season next year

Who cares as long as we win the GF next week.
Yer we will have to be prepared to lose some good players but like I say win the GF and we can live off that for a few years, come on we have won nowt since???

At least like last year the 2 best teams in the comp are competing the GF... Ok one of those teams is head and shoulders above the rest of the league but it is a much better spectacle when it is the best two teams... Plus with finals anything can happen and everything becomes a little more even!

2 Grand Finals in 2 years, am sure there will be planty of players that would love to play for us.

The players we have lost Shad to the Bulls. IF the rumours are right Branno and Patts to Widnes, both of those clubs are going to be in Super League which you cant really deny players a chance at Super League.

am confident we can get some good players in who work hard next season.

Congratulations but really? This makes up for the first team? Wow. So you watched more youth games than first team games? I'll tell you what VM, as soon as you're in SL you'll drop your obsession with "yoof" in your threads - I guarantee it.

As for the Championship next year - big changes at the top I reckon. Widnes will have to fare much better to stave off the embarrassing "promotion for nothing" spectre whilst Halifax may struggle to gel a new team together. I think Fev will still be hanging around - as will Leigh.

The grand final next week is reward for yet another hard season from the lads. My only regret for the club is that we haven't managed to significantly increase our fan base which will probably explain the reasons why changes are afoot for next year. This squad deserves better because they couldn't have entertained more over the last two years.

Under current fiscal climes I can't see Fev being too adventurous, tho looking at our nearest competitors I think you're spot on - not cos of any great fev advancement - (I reckon a season of consolodation, i.e. stick rather than twist for fev), but as a result of Barrow, Fax re-visiting their business plan and Widnes not spending what they don't need to ensurng they have max buying power for SL!

On the playing front, I will still maintain there are some big big earners in our league who are going to have to accept they are NOT exempt from the fact there is no @rse left in the worlds finances and that if they want a contract in this league they may well have to -re-dfine their own wage demands!! - and not afoore time!!!

My analysis of Widnes' season next year has changed somewhat given their current signings. I thought they'd be in for a season of mediocrity but in fact they're signing players on 1 year contacts with an option for a second which basically means they'll be playing for Super League contacts if nothing more. Smart move.

I thought your good buddie would have told you who has signed?

On the signings so far i gotta say i am a little worried where we are headed next season. Hopefully we can keep the majority of this team together.
