ive just watch the fax v widnes game from the other thursday, i watched the clubs copy of the game, to the most talked about point of the game the fight,, the rfl have called in sam barlow for running in and throwing a punch (which hit bob beswick), that is nothing, they should look at the attack by Kurt Haggerty
on bob beswick,if we attacked someone on the street like that we would be locked up, he most have hit bob 20 time,he was like a wild thug,i would recommend the rfl look at this copy of this game(not the sky version),and how Kavanagh and gannon dint get called before the rfl ill never know

I think there is generally a reluctance by clubs to site opposition players and rely on "on report " instead

I can't agree with your criticism of Haggerty Sean, where I came from, anyone who goes into a brawl gets what comes their way, it's hit or be hit. It's no good most of us bleating about it when one of ours takes a few samcks when we're praising the "bring back the biff" in another breath.

There are things that players police themselves on the field, a scrap is a scrap, if you don't fancy it you stay out of it, but things such as off the ball hits, coming in 3rd man, clonking somebody on the floor or from behind, deliberately targeting a kicker while he's in the motion of kicking, they're the things that wind the opposition up.
Gannon shouldn't have been on the field at the point of the brawl because his tackling had been borderline all night, they're the calls of the three officials though.
I do agree that the RFL were wrong just singling out Sam when others were up to no good, but like I say, if you live by the sword, you have to be prepared to die by it as well.
I wouldn't criticise any club for not citing another club's player, but if a serious injury has occurred and there is sufficient evidence that would be a different case.

Widnes have always been a dirty side. They thrived on it during the eighties and intimated teams, during the nineties they were not so great but still dirty and it continues today.

The thing that incensed me at the time...and still does...is that Kavanagh is one of the main perpetrators of the whole incident and yet hasn't been mentioned.

at least back for the play-offs.

Least he'll be back for the play offs if this is true. Thankfully Batley and Toulouse and very focused on the forwards as some teams as Sam added alot of power into our pack. Now i've said this Batley will probably demolish us down the middle of the park Sunday.

How they have only picked 1 person out of all that and punished him is beyond me, you could have picked any number of players?

Will he be able to play in the Playoffs? I thought you had to play in at least 6 games in order to be eligible.

I believe there is only an eligibility rule regarding Dual Registered players. Which is they muct have played in 75% of all leagure games to qualify. I cannot find a rule regarding any other stipulations.

Relating to the incident were the majority of the players ot themselves involved in the fracas,in particular the Haggerty incident attack on Beswick.I was stood up ready to leave my seat directly in front of the dugout were it all kicked off,yes Haggaerty did get a few cheap shots in on Beswick but for some reason Haggerty was on the floor and Beswick was on top of him giving him a right good hiding.In fact when the match video was presented to the discipline panel i was gobb smacked both Haggerty and Beswick were both not summoned to appear before the committee.In all honesty i dreaded Beswick getting at least 2-3 games,in my opinion very lucky.

That contradicts what Sean wrote in the topic opener, hmmm ????

What I've seen of the video, it is Haggerty that is on top of Beswick raining punches on him.
