Is this true or speculation? I will be pleased if its true, would be a very good signing.

Same name I heard yesterday, but as I stated on another post, I wasn't too sure about my source so kept the name quiet... good signing if its true.

It seems we are signing Fax boys who having been supporting Fax regardless of playing for other clubs therefore now they are back they will play their hearts out and put some pride back in our jersey!

If true, absolutely fantastic.

Ticks all the boxes for me;

- Fax lad; proud to wear the Jersey (was at GF watching us)
- Big lad; the sort of aggressive large forward we need especially with departure of Said on cards
- Brings brother as well
- Good signal to up and coming fax players
- no doubt ticks a franchise box somewhere

If my memory serves correct there was a rumour we may be signing him at the end of last season, though think that was just someone reading too much into the fact he was at the grand final in a fax shirt, plus he turned up to see the Challenge Cup when it was on display at Harveys, even if his brother was wearing a sheffield shirt.

I am pretty sure we havent paid for him. And 5k is a lot of money.

Nothing official anywhere. Not even a mention of Barlow being released on the Sheffield board so until official confirmation it is just another rumour.

As for him being a fax fan I think he is. Didn't he, his family and friends get on one of the coaches to the grand final last year all wearing blue and white wigs?

Like some others i know little about Rudd. As for Barlow - excellent addition to the team. Good , young , Halifax born player who will compliment larder well in the second row. He is also an extremely pleasant bloke. A back row of larder , Barlow and Nash is a pretty decent line up.
