Give up and go do something else you utter waster.

I don't think that's a valid argument, I've never tried to run the country. That doesn't mean I can't be critical of those that do!!!!!!
The man in the middle was appointed because those in charge believe he is capable, he demonstrated today that he is a fair bit away from being so.

| The second half from him was a disgrace. Talk about inconsistent! You may say Keighley deserved a bonus point but to be honest they'd have been blown away had we had a different referee.

To be fair to him, he didn't have the luxury of a video ref or still photography, he had to make a decision at break neck speed and it would have immediately hit the line fraction of a second later.
That said he, and his team, made error after error

| you could tell by his reaction that he knew he'd scored. The ref along with the tj's were too quick to decide things, rushing & making guesses.... well done Stuart Cummings.. you will have been proud of your boys today!!!!

| Come on Fax fans. Keighley have a squad containing virtually no recognised 'names'. Give them some credit for holding you to such a close margin as they did, despite your misgivings over Turley's performance. With the ability and talent that you can boast, today was some effort from them.

All i've done so far is lambast the referee but you're correct - a massive effort from Keighley. They never stopped running and never stopped probing. Great effort from Presley and Wray. I fancy them to survive this year.

| The officials were extremely poor. Everytime they made a bad decision the fourth official came on and spoke to them at the next oppurtunity and it was not just for water as he kept pointing to where incidents had occured.
We have all seen the photo evidence of Brannigans try.
James haley clearly put the ball down before going anywhere near the cornerflag/touchline.
Said "Stanley" Tamghart's try being ruled out for stealing when the keighley player clearly offloaded.
What would have surely been a try for nash when he stole the ball one on one and raced away only to be pulled back because another player grabbed him after the ball had gone.
When the keighley player was over the line on his back and looked like he reached over and put the ball down, that is either a try or if he had called held then a penalty to halifax it should not have ended in a play the ball.
These are just five incidents that changed the game from being a easy win to a hard fought win
Neither side were very good at being onside, i always thought you could not move up until the ball is played not when the ball touches the floor.
I know being a halifax fan i did not notice if he was favouring us in the first half but it was ridiculous how much he pinged us in the second.
Jermaine Wray when he came on in the first half was very good in attack but he was very dirty when tackling swinging arms and third man in with either elbow or knee.
The biggest thing that i had to laugh at was when wray broke down the middle and said tackled him from behind and punched the ball out. The ref actually had his back turned when it happened and so gave a penalty for a headhigh tackle. BIZARRE

If you watch the game on the tv you can quite clearly hear the ref shouting "hold, hold, hold" and then shouts "go" when the player puts the ball down, not when they play it.

really if so i am wrong but i am sure that is what the rule says. This may have come about because nobody actually plays the ball properly anymore so if they were waiting for the foot to strike the ball they would never move up

No you are not wrong. It is the referees who are wrong. The players should hold until the foot hits the ball.
The other wasted phrase which is constantly heard on the tv is when the defending team should be behind the touch line (play the ball within 10 meters of the goal) is "TWO FEET" because not one single team is ever fully onside when this occurs, including ours.

| The Ref's performance had limited affect on the game. After 10 minutes of the Second Half after Beswick's try we simply switched off thinking the game was already won. Our defence fell apart, our discipline was simply stupid and Keighley took advantage.
Yes there were some confusing decisions. I thought Haley's effort was a try but I also though Said stole the ball two on one. We conceded penalty after penalty because we put ourselves in positions where the Referee had penalised BOTH sides throughout the game.
Just typical Halifax fare blaming the ref, some fans took that criticism way too far yesterday.

| Whilst you may have some valid points way the ref was against you, do not forget we had a clear try by Jamaine Wray, we were given a penalty the ref clearly blew for play to continue Jamaine scored a try only to be pulled back with no explanation.
Also when we were 2 behind you made some yardage then seemed to offload the ball our player Chris Baines went for ball ref said he knocked on but based on what was said after Bary looked at vid straight after game and its clear Chris did not knock it on, a very important call went against us which ultimately led to a try for you, so keep the moaning at being pinged by ref in reality please.
End of day despite the ref being inept there was 2 good sides who played very good rugby and unfortunately whilst I believe we should have got at least a point we have not and now have to move to hopefully beating Sheffield.

| The Royston try just before time was a bizarre one. Our guy dropped it, the ref signalled for a knock-on, not the waved arms signal for play on, and he let Royston run through and go 80 metres for the try.
The incident where Tamghart stripped the ball from Wray was definitely not a high shot. But from where I was stood, the one leading to Tamghart's disallowed try was a 2 on 1 steal.
Will Cartledge crashed over for a try which was given held up even though from the stands you could see the ball being grounded.
Likewise that great camera shot shows you had a perfectly good one ruled out.
I think what can be agreed amongst both sets of fans is that Mr Turley should not be allowed near a professional rugby league game for a while, he had a shocker.
