The table could look pretty close by 4:45pm on Sunday, and a must win for Fax, with Fev and Leigh playing each other on Tuesday night. Get ourselves back into contention at the top.

Thursday: Leigh v Widnes
Sunday: Halifax v Barrow
Tuesday: Leigh v Fev

The most important thing to me is the attitude the players show. If we were to lose narrowly against a good Barrow side but the players give it their all then at least ill have faith theyre willing to fight on for the cause. If we come up with another Leigh performance then ill be worrying about us even making it to the playoffs

That's all I ask for each and every game, for the team to look as if they tried.

I too am optomistic about Sunday, but all I want to see is the effort and desire from our team. I would like a win but would be happy that we compete in an enthusiastic manner.

All you want is effort and desire from a team? That should be a given, not a wishful comment that you hope the players can actually show a bit of effort and desire on the pitch. We're paying their wages to play 80 mins a week, it's the least we should expect from a set of semi-professional players.
Also happy to compete? This post just shows the levels we've plummeted. We have the best squad in the division and are playing at home, we should be expecting to win no matter who the opposition are. With better coaching, discipline and a stronger defensive unit, it would be a home banker.

Well said hattiefax. We do have the best team on paper but with all that has been going on, our confidence will have taken a knock.

We should beat all comers and to do this we need to muscle up in defence.

Lots of singing in the south stand would help........we were non existant on that front against Leigh

that was coz loads were in the East Stand to try it out. Also, there wasn't an awful lot to sing about on the pitch that day.
Hope it's different on Sunday.

Thats the kind of thing you hear from fans of Batley or Keighley (no offence to either team).
Effort and desire should not be a factor, it should always be there. I want to see a proffesional performance from the players to show that no matter what the off-field problems we have the best squad in this league.

I agree though, Mouthy, we need to demonstrate to the team and the club that we are still right behind them 100%. Plenty of noise and no negativity.

I don't agree, I have seen both of those teams this year and the effort and desire has not been lacking, but I have also seen games this season where we have lacked it.

I want to see games week in week out where the enthusiasm and desire is evident and where we only get beat because our opponents out play us, instead of out-enthusing us.
