that none of the resident football fans have brought up this letter from Roger Simpson in the Courier!

All them comments about "The Rugby had representatives on the board and should have said something" etc etc, this just goes to show that they DID register their disapproval at the time, and that the reduced rent paid by them was only a short term arrangement based on expected crowds of 700!
I'm not one for bringing up old news, but seeing as this is just a Rest Room for the Footy halfwits, I might as well!
I give it 3 hours before the thread is locked due to the stupid comments that are bound to follow. |

The difference being though, that the football club negotiated a new rental contract. For how long, I have no idea.
The rugby club were already in a contract which they must have been happy with at the time of signing, yet (by the sounds of it) have chosen not to comply with that contract.

The Rents were set to be equal to both clubs. That was one of the main reasons for the SST being there. When the Rents became un-equal, the contract "which they must have been happy with" was broken, if nothing but morally.
Everybody (most) want both clubs at The Shay, but the footy fans really need to let this go now and move on. |

Went to court over my rent this year, judge found it was morally unsound that my rent had been set higher than the majority of my neighbours. As such, unpaid rent total was lowered. So off the top of my head, last week. But I'm sure there will have been several cases since then. And I think you will find that in the case of contractual law with regards to the rental of any property the morally correct is a major deciding factor. |
