Myself and Toni decided last night that it was in our best interests to resign from the SSB!

It has been a pleasure serving all you "locals". A big thanks to all our staff that have helped us over the years.

Thanks again for all the support over the years, its been a pleasure... were looking forward to having a pint on the other side of the bar (wherever it may be!!)

Does anyone how long they have signed up for running it?

Seems they're going to Kill what has been a good facility,

I heard the guy who runs "The Shay" (hotel) wanted to get a tie in with the supporters, Its not as bad as it used to be, and has bottles of Carlsberg for a Quid. Its that or straight up to the 3 pigs or pump room, but will be sad to lose the "supporters bar"

The guy at The Shay Hotel had been doing a good job in getting more Town fans to frequent there.

Unfortunately, he has been moved to a pub in Huddersfield and the new landlady (allegedly something of a battleaxe!) wants nothing to do with the football or rugby and aims to turn it into a bikers pub



Well screw her then. Pigs / Pump only two mins away, & much better pubs tbh.

If you want nothing to do with Football/Rugby why take a pub next to a stadium???

Shame he's been moved on, he had it going ok, there was a period for a few years I wouldn't go in there at all because it was so crap, can't beat the pigs/pump room though

If EMC have taken over then good luck with that one!

Already got a "Say no to EMC" campaign going!

We tolerated it as a one off at LSV, though it must be said, it was one of the worst footballing experiences, especially at our level, and I would [size=200HATE [/size it for the same to happen at The Shay.

Thermos's dusted off & shop-bought snacks packed for tomorrow already!

And EMC don't fill the pint pots to the line, I managed to have a row about that at the LSV

Doesn't bother me if they want to charge through the teeth for beer at the ground, I'll just drink less during the game, would rather give my money to local establishments, Food prices dont worry me either as I rarely eat in the ground,

What annoys me is, its going to hit things like the post match fans bar, Neil Arber gives his time every week to arrange a raffle, Club 1873 draws ect, but if the beer is priced too high people are going to go elsewhere and not stay in the ground, reducing the money raised by the supporters club.

if towns game is anything to go on, the bar will only be open for about 5 mins after game anyway.

as a town fan i advise both clubs say no to EMC! Unfortunatley they will always make money one way or another but in order to get rid of them we need to minimise their takings

The bar was a farce today. 30 mins to get a drink. They couldn't pull a pint and didn't know how to use the till.

Shirt and tie didn't hide the fact that they were useless.

Bring back the old lot.

Oddly enough I heard a rumour that Fax were looking into utilising The Shay pub as a Fax bar and club, possibly with merch for sale there too. As far as that was concerned it seemed to be a matter of changing the home end of the ground to better suit it. Would be interesting to see if anything came to fruition with that

I asked at the Outside bar who the EMc General Manager was cos I wanted to complain, cue smug git saying "its me" so I asked his Name and he Said "Basil", I can only presume his surname is Fawlty.
