Sorry for the delay in the addition of the props and the vote for the Hooker, I've been a busy bee lately.

Right, now to what I think is the most competitive position of the team - The Hooker.

I'll start the ball rolling with Paul Rowley, no matter what happened after his move and the feelings he may have towards Fax. Rolo was a class act for us and his performances for us in 2000 (his one and only season for us in the decade) got him the hooking role for England in the 2000 World Cup.

Ben Fisher, Came over as a relative unknown on a reccomendation from Greg Florimo and Ben Black (IIRC), There was a reason why Brian Noble was seen scouting him at The Shay and I seem to remember The Bulls making an offer for him.

Always seem to have been strong in this position. Rowley, Lawless, Penky, Glees, Fish.

Try to remember it's across the decade not career. Rowley for instance only played one season for Halifax in this decade in 2000.

For me I'd be looking between Penky, Lawless, Fisher, Rowley or even Gleeson who has been just as good over the last 18 months with us.

The question is does one season mean more than 3 or 4 seasons?

Rolo by a country mile. Ouzed class, no other hooker we have had for many many years could lace his boots.

For the 90's it would have been Rowley, without doubt. For 00's it would be Lawless or Penky for me

On top of everything else the only 9 that was capable of running a try in from 80 yds out!

Fisher did that againt SL Leigh side in the Cup

That was 75 yards, max!

Gleeson deserves a shout, he's got that touch of class about him.

Rowley was the 90s for me so its between Lawless who never let us down and gave 100%, Penky who can be either awesome and the best player in the Championship or awful but has also shown us loyalty by turning down Salford and probably other teams to stay at Fax on less money or Mr Consistant Gleeson who never seems to have a poor game. Tough call to make.

In terms of this team then, yes, Beckett, Woods and Florimo all played for a solitary season.

Not Rowley for me. If it was a poll on the 90s yeah no problem. Best hooker for me this decade has been Fisher, followed by Gleeson.

Remember Fisher outplaying Rowley against Leigh in the Cup. Great performance for him

He might not be as flashy as Penky or even Fisher, but is consistently good, and last season was at times a much needed steadying influence.

Has he ever had a bad game for us??

Rowley was class in the 90's. Lost a lot of respect for him when he slagged us off to all and sundry, saying he could get more at Wigan or Warrington and ended up at Huddersfield!!

Sorry, but IMHO Lawless should not be mentioned in the same breath as the above. He was way past his best when he came back to us, some of his dummy half work was soooooo slow it was untrue

Penky - hope to see him back to his best without being rotated through the halfback position this year

Remember Rowley and Lawless were doing it against quality opposition. OK Jonnys attacking play may not have been the best but his workrate in defence was immense, I know a lot of posters on here don't seem to take note of defence. But 1 season in SL 9 tries and international honours has to be Rowley.

Tough one this! Rowley was a class act but as others have posted he slagged the club off and ive never been a fan of that no matter who the ex player is. Thats why i probably had a downer on Dunneman and went for Holly at stand off. Obviously its down to what you consider to be important about a player. Think im gonna be voting for Gleeson or maybe Penky or i might even go for Rowley....Help!!!!!
