I think it's harsh to say Black and Penky were outplayed. Unless the forwards win the arm wrestle, the halves will be outplayed nine times out of ten. The big guys need to show up on Thursday and at least match the strong Fev pack. That will then give the playmakers a chance to shine.

As long Frank and Penky are not in the side i think we have a great chance, one only plays for 3 drives in 80 mins, and the other is liable to give the opposition 6 extra sets, we have no chance of consistent stable platform pressure building rugby with those 2 clowns lately.

In my opinion barring injuries these guy's should have been selected in their positions all season with Penky and Gleeson sharing the hooking duties.

I can't see what good it does the team when every other week we've a different 6 or 7 or 13.

Very harsh, Penky is playing in a foreign position and he it's not like he isn't trying, he is always buzzing about and is enthusiastic, he just isn't a 6, he is however one of the best hookers in the league.

I agree. When Penky is on form playing at hooker he can be devestating and is the best hooker in the league. We just need to play him there. Him and Gleeson rotating is a must for Thursday as we should be able to play on the back of quick play the balls with us having a SL ref.

I dont think you can say that with all the time we spent on their line last Thursday. That is when it is time for the halfbacks to take over.

When you look back at the team that played at the start of the season, we had penky and gleeson rotating at hooker with penky coming off the bench.
I agree with haighy regard the team, we should keep them in that position for the entire match, it will provide a structure to our play that calland is wanting.
Maybe our downfall was when we played all our playmakers at Castleford and it worked for that one game and we have since been trying to find the same since.
I have every faith in our coaching staff and when we have played to a structure, we have looked awesome and capable of beating anyone. First half against Barrow and Featherstone, springs to mind.

Nice to see some common sense and positive talking on the forum. For me its got to be 6 = Govin, 7= Black, 9 = Gleeson, 13 = Beswick (Providing he puts a big pack in front of him where he has space to cause some damage) and Penky from the bench coming on as Hooker and only Hooker.

Yes a bit harsh i admit, but meant in a friendly way, they do try, Frank seems to struggle as time knocks on, and the other feels the pressure to re-invent his game at such a late stage in his career. Penky is good at sniping from dummy half, not making last tackle kicks and power plays. The stats may or may not show this, thats an issue for Gonzalez and Calland but its plain to see for all.
I am no different in that i go to every game and we all see the same mistakes and patterns develop, they have been good uns for us, saying it doesn't come out easily.
I recently watched some of last years games on tv, seeing Holroyd barking at the line telling them where to go and be, and see energetic forwards like Flanagan, driving the ball in and making hits in defence was great, we looked sharper too, those 2 were class last year and have left big holes to fill.

Calland i hope will move Penky back to 9 for this game and like others have said bring Govin into the fold at stand off. if gleeson and penky interchange of the bench i can see us exposing them down the middle throuhgout the match.
