Im just wondering if it is now common policy that all rumour threads are going to be locked? Just this has never happened before and im wondering why start now.



Id say that rumours are part of RL. If you are asking for people to name a source when they put rumours on here then im not sure that a certain club director will be pleased about having his name on here every other day as the person who leaked some club news.

It used to be gossip in the pub or club. A whisper to your mates at work.
A phone call from a mate. This is how the news of signings and players leaving used to get about.
Now, these fora are the modus operandi for getting the word out quickly.
I don't see the problem. It's always happened and I think there is a tendency for the mod process to be invigilated a little too keenly when it's about a player leaving the club, but that's only my opinion and not overt criticism.

The only issue with the Rob Worrincy thing from a mod stance maybe:- and I've not idea what the moderators reasoning was:- but maybe that as Rob is still a fax player, such public speculation may affect his performance on Thursday!! Or maybe not eh!

John Grayshon had what I believe to be the poorest game in a widnes shirt against us and it's been widely rumoured that he's signed for Fev for next season!

Rumours dont bother me at all hence I dont lock them but all we ask just dont say anything libel. Now smile because Wrenchie loves you all!

The players can't hear you talking to your mates down the pub or over the phone. This is a public forum and the everyone connected with our great club can certainly (and I'm sure they do) read all of this. I don't think it helps things on the pitch being [ioverly[/i critical about certain sectors of the club all of the time.

Maybe we should all just take a second to think who may be reading our words before we type them (and make the mods jobs easier

Thats the problem though. I dont know how many moderators there are on here, but you all have different opinions on what threads get locked and which dont. Its quite petty why some threads get locked and it certainly doesnt encourage discussion and debate which surely is what this place is about?

And I suspect it's more to do with that £1m loss Widnes made last year that's the reason for reducing the wage bill rather than any cap reduction! Though as I have said, it's just a suspicion of mine and I have no evidence to substantiate that before someone throws a "libel" ball at me!!

We where at full 400k cap this season (confirmed) next year the max cap is 300k so that's the CLEAR REASON so forget your 'suspensions' as it's all there in Black & White! The differebce is no other team (apparently) was spending full cap so therefore obviously it is us more than most that have to make a few changes!
