Before and un truths get told, unfortunately there were a few idiots below the South stand on the way out that almost cause a bit of a situation. Both sets of fans were chanting and a few fools from each club who obviously had had a Lucozade or two started abusing each other. Thankfully there were normal civilised people from both clubs that stepped in an disolved the problem.

must admit, I saw part of this & the stewards were just stood there & didnt get involved until it almost came to a full on scrap!

Their main job is to stop any disturbances, not to just spend time telling people that they cant drink out of a can or put that cig out!

If they dont want to get involved... DONT DO THE JOB!

Got to admit Griffax was right there I was walking past when it blew up and a potentially bad situation was very quickly stopped by other fans while the stewards looked as if they did not know what to do .They would have been better standing resolutly in 2 lines keeping the fans apart rather than standing back it could have been resolved quicker than it was.I feared for a young lad of only about 11 /12 who seemed to get caught up with the emotion of it all.I was proud of the ones who steped in it was over as quick as it started.

The main perpetrator was a Fax fab who got led out of the ground by stewards as soon as it started, However once the situation had started it didn't die down as quick

Just emotion,Beer and disapointment for both sets of fans , all together in the wrong place at the wrong time

Sure all will feel a bit stupid in the morning

Total idiots the lot of them.....there`s no place in the sport for these people........... there is a winner and a loser, and we lost cos we weren`t good enough.

Spoke to a few of your fans when this happened and they were all top people who love your club and the sport.

Ban the idiots who started this as they let your club down (I saw a few chanting but only 2 trying to kick it off)......theres no need for it in our sport and we dont want to see it.

Forgot to say that I was talking to Faxlad66..........top bloke who talks sense............the type of people I love to see supporting your team.

P.S......the stewards were useless and need sorting......as been said they didnt know what to do and the decent fans had to step in to stop it kicking off big style.......... the club should look at this.

Some of the same young lads that have been abusing away fans leaving the ground on a regular occurance. With all the CCTV thats ment to be at the ground you would think the club wont have a problem banning them from the ground.
The little tool stood at the front of the Fax fans made me laugh " come on then outside now" Der you are outside you muppet. Id have let the Leigh fans at them they deserve a good beating.

We beat Leigh on the pitch, they are heading for a relegation battle, and some hardcore fans take the time to travel to put money in to our club, yet we get some planks who go way past the line and start abusing them. Scrotes the lot of them.

Granted the Fax fans were out of order but they were not the only ones I thought the Leigh fan who steped in front of his fans to calm his own fans down should be aplauded this man could do with being thanked in some way .Maybe he could be given a job of training the stewards on how to defuse a situation ?

I was heading up town for a night out so left the ground straight away so sadly saw this insident and what anoyed me was the group of fax fans provoking the Leigh fans by chanting yoy s**t b*****ds at the at them, it was not so long ago that we was strugerling and I remember what it felt like so to chant that at the Loyal Leigh fans was very wrong indeed. Well done to the Leigh fans who came to the game and got behind your team

Well you probably have got it in one when you say you remember when we were strugleing well so do I ,but the lads who were doing the taunting sadly probably don`t .They were probably not around,Michael Steele spoke about this in yesterdays programme ,asking people to remember the Respect campaign as increased gates have met with increased complaints to the club.He says it`s a family game lets keep it that way.
Maybe the fans should be reminded more often about the behaviour that is expeccted of them.And if you have just started being a Fax fan you are more than welcome but not if you don`t treat people with respect we don`t want it.

Was talking to the stewards afterwards and the area immediately beneath the stand isn't covered by the CCTV, it only covers when you leave the cover of the stand.

I thought the stewards did a decent job really. Afterall are they even trained to deal with something like that. It was never going to kick off anyway as there were a few people watching that didnt get involved that would have if it had ignited.
Cant we get some photos of the crowd up on the computer and then we can pick them out.

Much ado about nothing, I think. As Brew mentioned, the main Fax perpertator was carted off pretty sharpish and his mates followed suit, though why the incident carried on for so long after that beats me.

All the 'Fax fans I spoke to before, during and after the game were all spot on and I'll miss our visit to the Shay next season when we're in Champ 1 (though I'll be back there for the FCHT-Leigh Genesis game
