My feelings are that there are 3 issues that will involve Dane and 1 that involves everybody.

The first challenge.
On it's own I believe it would have been put on report with the judiciary looking at it and dealing with it with any appropriate punishment to follow, as it will now.

The first punch up which Dane was directly involved in.

The second flare up and punch up which Dane was directly involved in.

Finally the rest of the incident involving all the other players.

At the root of the issue are the competitiveness of both teams, the importance of the game, what had happened in the Shay encounter and Sam's history as a player.

I hope the disciplinary look at it fairly, firmly and Dane if guilty learns from it and we all accept it and move on and not burn what has been largely a good relationship we have had as two rival clubs trying to progress in a tough sport.

It is important to realise that nothing happened off the pitch. 'Fax fans are, in my humble opinion, the best. All they've been doing on here is expressing opinions and there's nowt wrong with that, so I would suggest we Leythers stick to our views of what happened and stop berating 'Fax fans for having their opinions. HalifaxJohn, I'll mention what and who the hell I like when making my point. You post as though you speak on behalf of the forum, when it appears the majority on here disagree with most you have to offer.

Charlie, i do know you, not in person but from the posts you contribute. Your posts are mostly thoughtful, articulated and balanced, even if some rub people up the wrong way. Based on your usual posts, I felt the one that I commented on was written differantly and that you were holding back what you really wanted to say. I don't write that as fact but merely opinion.

A'lifax , Halifaxjohn , and Mester Cairoli , please read the posts that I put on more clearly, I never said that Halifax were the scum of the Earth, what I actually said was that they were the scum of Rugby League, not quite the same thing is it, and I didn't mean the fans who I chatted with amicably in April at the Shay, I meant the Team and in particular Manning, that Man is a thug plain and simple ,and should never be allowed on a Rugby League field again in my opinion ,if Harrison has instructed Him and Fatty Tonks to play that way then he is also guilty, the biggest culprit was of course the useless ref who quite clearly intended Halifax to be his favourites, just like he did at the shay earlier, He and his linesmen aren't fit to referee an under 7s match get em banned.

On the other hand after the game at the Shay Paul Rowley said in the Rugby League press concerning the game.

By Pauls own words it was planned at the Shay and introduced into the game by him, that being the case the facts are he was part of the root cause.

What responsibility does he shoulder, his he not just as guilty as anyone.

That's why KH said what he did after that game.

Consequently you can imagine any coach to expect his players to man up and meet fire with fire in any follow on encounters. We all would.

If you have ever played the game that's exactly what happens and adds to the chances of it kicking off, when it does the players of each side are in a way ready for it and will just go into auto pilot and rush in and get involved to protect their team right or wrong.

Just as the supporters on forums rush in on their keyboards do to protect their team right or wrong.

Pretty difficult to get any unbiased view points either way in these circumstances.

A number of people from both clubs contributed to what happened leading up to and after the Manning / Barlow incident but only a couple or one man will pay the price.

We need to look at the bigger picture to get the best view of the whole situation and it then becomes a bit clearer.

Let the players get on with it, your coach said he needed something to change at the shay and encouraged it. Should we all say he is the scum miser coach in RL. As a follow on having looked at the build up and the coaches let's look at the players and both games again.

It has been said that Fax wound Sam Barlow up and got him to bite at the Shay, thing is he had already been wound up to do a job before he came on.

Sam was introduced from the bench during the first half to put some biff and bash into the game and following his coaches instructions his immediate contribution was to give a penalty away.

A number of follow on incidents involving others and him took place on the pitch, including a bit of afters near the half way line with Sam and Dane Manning.

Eventually he got the red card, on leaving the field after he had been sent off he head butted Gareth Potts and had words and a bump with Lee Greenwood who had come onto the pitch with water during the stoppage, on leaving the field he had to be escorted down the tunnel by the match commissioner.

I have no problem with the shrewd coaching that turned the game or even with Sam, it's who he is but if Dane Manning is the scum of Rugby League then by the same scale Sam is right up there with him.

If KH is a disgrace and should be banned from the game then Paul Rowley should be as well.

Anyway we need to look at Sunday, that's what the clubs will be doing.
