The person who started the Wakey rumour was Sam himself, he's been saying it for over 12 months

i know for a fact that Sam didnt start it i am very good friend s with Sam, Josh their older brother Adam Sam signed last week for Fax Josh signed yesterday fax were waiting so they could make a joint statement. Josh is a big forward who is bigger then Sam forward thinking like Sam.

i also think we should be looking at local teams for the U23's some good player that wont be high on salary.

Great news on the Barlow girls, I know them all very well as do lots of folks who follow 'Fax and I'm chuffed for everyone concerned, I hope things work out for Josh, it must have been tempting to go back to Oz, I understand there had been something in place for him to go back there. He played a bit at hooker with the Hudds academy last season, so his all round game is developing nicely.
Once again, next season lokks like it's going to be very competetive.
Well done Faxlad66 for dipping into his pocket, I know he's chuffed with his contribution in making it possible.

Good point, had forgotten about that part of things. Though IIRC players over 21 do count on first team cap and not sure on rules for players coming from eslewhere? I.e. if we signed Ben Davies on big contract from Wigan etc etc. Be interesting to see how your 23's (or whatever we are calling it this year) takes shape

Cracking news. Not seen josh play but heard great reports.

It was Pete McNamara from the Ivy House.

I have been speaking to him about it and he is proud as punch to have been able to help the club.

I for one will be popping in the Ivy more often, at least we know that putting money over the bar there helps the club indirectly!!

Thank you to those people for their positive comments. Im absolutely delighted that i was in a position to help both the club and Sam. It would have been a travesty had we lost him IMO.

To be fair, the credit should go to Sam himself who could well have earned more elsewhere but chose to stay with his home town, and also to Martin Hall for making it easy for me to contribute an achievable amount. The most important thing is that we all do our bit to help make the club more successful, regardless of what it is.

As not to forget Josh, you will have to forgive me as ive never seen him in action but im really looking forward to seeing him play as he will add more youth and depth to our squad.

It warms me cockles to read stuff like this on this board. We may not make it into SL soon but we'll never die, that's for sure.

This is correct. For whatever reason at Halifax there are always people who are willing to dip in to their pocket to help the club out. This has been so true over the years and will continue to be so. The people who love RL in Halifax are very passionate about their club.

A big well done to Pete and the Ivy and Big Sam, who like has been mentioned could have earned more elsewhere but has chose to stay. One of the reasons for me we kicked on last season.

I personally think it were the catalyst for our sucess when he came. He added so much to our pack and lead us forward.
Apparntly josh is a great player and will get a spot on our bench.
Thanks to the ivy house i too will be visiting more often.
