| Everyone has the right to further their career, just like Royston has done. Aizue explains that it is his dream to play in the NRL, even more so after the chance he had when he couldn't speak English. If he does get an offer as a result of his performance against the Aussies he'd be mad not to take it.

| True, but I think he could have phrased it better. You'd usually get the soundbyte of "but I've still got a job to do where I am" or something along those lines. He just sounded like Cartman. "Screw you guys, I'm going home".

No he didn't !!! The reporter phrased it that way, As we always say, Journalism is there to sell papers, Do not beleive everything you read. If he gets a offer, good luck to him, he stuck with us all year when no doubt the perverbial hit the fan with Gene, coming to training from Hull on the train and did us proud at the end of the season. Good luck to him if he stays and even better luck if he gets the chance he deserves.

I think I am with you there. I cant see him getting an offer, but if he did I would wish him well, after all at 32 his playing career is getting shorter and he has to do what is best for him.

| Quote ="spanishbob"At 32 years old, playing in the English Championship, the chances of him picking up a NRL contract must be pretty slim. He didnt particularly light up our league, although he did come good towards the end.
I, for one, would like to see him doing what he did for the last few games, for the whole season next year, down at the Shay.'"
Ahhh but maybe he's looking to follow the example of Ryan Tandy. Even former Widnes and Whitehaven journeyman Aaron Summers made the Brisbane Broncos squad on a few occasions last season.
Like you said though, he's got a very slim chance.

Has Aizue on $50k a year, same as the Sheffield PNG players. Hunslet players on $40k while a few of the team are on bug-ger all.

dont forget that those rates are aussie dollars. so maybe we can pick up a few of the team on the cheap.

| He was crap to be fair, played like he did for Fax earlier on in the season, as I recall, he made 2 hit-ups the whole game & dropped the ball twice with them hit-ups, made a few decent tackles in defence though.
He'll end up at Sheffield or Hunslet next year, mark my words!

| Is it just me that's spotted that when Stanley No Morals is tugging Makka's strings like early season at Fax and now with PNG, he played sh**te. But when he was coached by a decent coach (MC) and Gene wasn't around to influence things he played great. I for one would welcome Aizue back now the bad penny has crawled back under his shell. Hopefully Makka spots this too.

Some of the stuff that has been wrote on these boards about an actual RL legend hasnt been that great to be honest. He has had a lot of clubs and has been the model professional(forgot to add and all round good guy) at each and every one of them bar one if you speak to people within the game. Funny how its Fax where it went belly up for him.

| With regards to Stanley, he is a true rugby league legend, for what ever reason it did not work at Fax, if u read Stans comments when signing he had been coached by Hall before and played with Calland.
The matter is now over and we should as a club and fans put it behind us, we are champions (i will never get board of saying that)
As far as i am concered Stanley Gene is still a rugby league legend and should be remebered for all the right reason not s small blip in an otherwise amazing career/storey.
[size=200[u.[/u[/size
With regard to Makali, Watch his interview when joing Fax and tell me this guy does not love playing Rugby! for me its all about getting some consistancy from him, if we can do that he will add to what is turing out to be some massive forwards for fax next season!

| Can't disagree with what came before Fax and I was as excited as anybody when I heard Stanley had signed. I can only say it as I see it though, and I for one see life through blue and white glasses.
Those of you who voted Tory this last election because you thought Cameron was an all round good egg can now see the irony.
At fax it is alleged Stanley did not pull his weight at training, was a disruptive influence, would not carry out his duties with regards to his school visits meaning others had to pull double shifts creating further bad feeling and that he badmouthed the coach to the press which if true, was particularly unprofessional.
How much truth there is in those allegations I have no idea but I believe what I have been told and now wish his "god like feet" had never touched the ground at the Shay.
What went before has gone. In PNG his status continues. In Halifax it is tarnished beyond repair (well, in my little part of Halifax it is). I'm sure Stanley won't be losing any sleep over what I think and it won't stop him spending his (in my opinion) "ill gotten gains."
