Not really , everybody can see that those clubs have problems , the RFL may try to ' gloss over ' them , but everybody still knows

And what happens elsewhere doesn't and shouldn't affect what you need your club to achieve , a strong support base turning up every week could not be ignored , simple as

Starbug, You really get on my nerves pal coming on here and every thread that mentions OUR SL application you like to say " do you seriously think they take any real notice of your licence application " or they are just doing this so that the RFL look to be taking it seriously but you have no chance etc.

Do you think you will be any different in 3 years time ?. I don't, The fact is our club has worked very hard for the last 3 years to get to the point of where we are. Then you spout that crap at every oppurtunity all becuase so far your team are doing well.

Just as your team have been fantastic for the last 2 seasons , but unfortunatly it means diddly squat as far as SL is concerned , Leigh and Fax are essentially at very similar levels , the one thing that put Widnes above us all is the extra 1,500 fans they have turning up on a match day , until either of us can match that , we aren't going anywhere , and to tell the truth would you really want to ? , remember what happened last time , if you hadn't been regegated in 2003 , how would you have done in 2004 in SL ?

How the hell anyone knows how we would have done if we were still there in 2004, As history shows teams can go from the bottom up the ladder very quickly, Relegated one season, Saved by a team going bust and then turning the corner from that point !! Sound familiar ??.

So if we dont get in, in three years time if we are still in the same situation then it would be us would it not ?. Missed out last time, in the next time ?. I wouldn't worry as i feel its going to be 16 teams in SL next year.

Familiar yes , relevant no , we won 9 out of 20 games in 2009 , our crowds were still within a couple of hundred of all the others apart from Widnes , my point about yourselves was if you hadn't dropped down , you most likely would have continued to struggle in 2004 , franchising only works if you have all strong clubs , any weakness and there is no safety valve to save you

Which we have established isn't enough to even contemplate going into SL with , did it help the Celtic Crusaders when they kept fiddling the attendances ?

So if you do that , all you are doing is ' kidding ' yourself , and then reality bites , the extra 1,500 fans you have are the reason you will be in SL next year , fortunatly you have retained enough core support for long enough to get back in , it has been dropping off as the years go by

It is a different scenario for them , without the SKY money , they dont exist , simple as

Ok Starbug, we get you don't think we have any chance of SL. That's your opinion. It may turn out to be correct, it might not. We shall see in July, one thing is for sure, our BOD don't think it's pointless. I am sure our bid will be as strong if not stronger than some teams in SL. What's to say the RFL will only kick out one team?

How the hell do you know what was most likely ?. Again just something plucked from the air, Crusaders were bottom until Nobby got them into the playoff position, all it might have taken is a small change in personnell. I don't know and you certainly dont. It appears very much to me that you like to make your mind up from guessing about things and you dont know how strong other clubs are really do you ?.

Nothing , but its highly unlikely , IMO of course , and yes your bid is stronger than some current SL clubs , then again Swinton could submit a bid stronger than some current SL clubs

And they lost a fortune , and will continue to do so , yes you are correct things might have changed , and you might have been stronger and survived , like most things on here they are down to opinion , but those opinions are usually backed up by what has already happened , when you came down you lost a huge amount of support , when Cas came down , they didn't , their core support continued , albeit only for one season , and then again through another relegation and promotion

So you either have a large enough supporter base or a very rich benefactor ? , do you have either of these things ? , without one or the other , prefferably both as Widnes have , going back up to SL will not be fun
