Mate.
There's as much chance as a snowball in hell of the current BOD putting this club at risk in an ill thought out attempt to get into SL.
Of course they would love this club to be there but will not gamble all in an attempt to get there.
They would rather we stay where we are and if we remain competitive so would I.
For me it wasn't necessarily about being in SL but more of a chance of being there without being cut off left to stagnate.

I agree as long as we (and every other club outside SL) have a chance to compete for promotion then we cant really complain. Its what we have wanted? If we dont make into the top flight so be it. Yes Im sure we would all like Fax to be playing in SL as a top performing club but it might not happen. The thing with licencing that peeved me off was the closed door mentality, no one has a right to be in that league it has to earnd by the team winning on the pitch.

Just the 2 against SL opposition, the other 2 against Championship opposition
As I posted earlier, nothing has actually changed with this restructure, it boils down to clubs managements ability to build their clubs financial income streams, it is that and that alone which will decide who ultimatly plays in SL

Everything has changed on the pitch because they will be playing for the chance to move up or avoid moving down.
As you say off the pitch will have the main bearing on what happens on it, at least now there is a greater incentive for those working behind the scenes to either invest more themselves and / or to attract new investors because allthough the way forward is a narrow road at least it's not a cul-de-sac as before.

There are six games involving the four Championship clubs.
If four clubs get two each at home, that's eight home teams in those six games.
Conversely, if they only play one away, that's only four away teams in the six games.
Sorry mate, when you start working it out, it doesn't compute.

The document itself repeatedly mentions "subject to revised minimum standards". Ground capacity will undoubtedly be one. Finance probably another. It's not for me to speculate, really.

It will be interesting to see what they include, as you say you would have thought it would include the ones you have mentioned.
I just have what happened to the last minimum criteria still firmly fixed in mind.

| I was just pointing out that folk - on here and elsewhere - are saying promotion's automatic, all you have to do is finish on the top three or win the Mid-Table Grand Final.
But it's not. You still have stuff to do off the field.

You would have thought the BOD at clubs in the running for promotion will be fully aware of what they have to do both on and off the field.
It would be lunacy to put all their efforts into on the field performance only to realise or be told after the event that their ground wasn't big enough or they didn't have enough toilets or seats etc.
Also the RFL need to be realistic in what is achievable for the clubs as the game stands at the moment when they decide upon the criteria.

| The whole thing is a joke and complete farce. The concept is short sighted and does nothing to help the clubs and game to improve on and off the field. All teams should be forced to spend X-Amount on Reserve and Academy teams. If they cant afford/wont run them they shouldnt be in SL! Will clubs/SL/RFL actually look to work more together in offering packages for attending games or to help get youngsters watching?
All I can see, is the top 8 looking to eventually gain more power, money and contol and treat the rest of us, even worse than has been the case. The RFL will be as spineless as ever and have no proper control and allow clubs to keep making short term decisions damaging the game. Look how it allowed academy rugby and reserve rugby to be kicked out so clubs can save money and cut corners.
Sorry but I think this is another blow to the game and I dont think it wil benefit Fax or any other championship.

| Clearly the re-introduction of P&R is good news for all of us who believe this is the way forward. But there is still a lot of "devil in the detail" to understand before I will give the new proposals a positive or negative view. Amongst which are allocations of cash, second team structure, TV rights, minimum standards, financial stability etc.
Notwithstanding this I love the prospect that three years after it all starts we could see a Grand final between Hemel Stags and Gloucester. It will not happen, but at last everyone can dream. That is what sport should be about.

There are a significant number posts from Fev fans (Westwood, Taylor, Andy, etc. etc.) that are negative on there as well - again I don't see how this is celebrating. If you mean there is a lot of general happiness across all clubs in the championship that P&R is returning then I could see that (but not just Fev fans).
As for chip on shoulder, why is it that you feel the necessity to have a “pop” at Fev fans by saying "The penny's still not dropped at Fev. They're still celebrating", when there are as many members of other clubs that are bestowing the virtues of P&R in particular and to a lesser extent 2x12 into 3x8 within that same thread and other treads. By posting like this in a way that appears to be an anti-Fev on a Fax forum it would appear that you wish to ride on what you believe is anti-Fev sentiment within this forum (hence my question about “keeping a split between Fev and Fax fans”).
I suspect you know if you were to post “The penny's still not dropped in Fax. You’re still celebrating" (and there are a number of happy Fax fans on that same thread which you highlight that are happy that P&R is returning) you would get slated on here about demeaning Fax fans and rightly so. Just makes it look like you’re jealous of Fev (and yes I know you have no need to be).
In truth I know you have the Rugby League in your heart and would like to see the whole prosper (and Sheffield in particular), but maybe you should think about some of your posts before pressing the enter key.

To honest though it was only last Friday when it got voted through on a 7 to 6 for and against vote with one abstention, as you know up untill then everything was on hold, it was hardly possible or even practicle to plan for or look at anything else until the vote had taken place.
The powers that be and all the clubs know that the things you have mentioned and a good few more will need to be considered and it the coming months they will be decided upon.
Not a week has gone by yet so give it time.
The fact is that there is no perfect solution.
Happier, yes, more hopefull yes but I wouldn't call it celibrating.
