| Well they are and should be doing everything they feel apropriate to support their Club but however I am not happy about a paragraph in the letter sent to Mr Tuddenham from Gavin Butler .
" However having sought opinions of other supporters of BOTH CLUBS ,it is clear that there is deep opposition to this public asset ending up in the hands of private ownership - at least while the details are extremely limited."
If he wants to speak for Town fans fair enough but don`t speak for Fax fans I bet I have asked the views of more Fax fans than he has and 99% were in overwhelming support with the others only having the slightest of reservations (hardly the "deep opposition " claimed in the letter .

| Confirmed in the courier that it is Tony Abbott who is in "advanced talks" over the sale.
Linda, should a special meeting of the trust be called to gauge opinion, and a letter written off the back of that?

I think it might be making reference to the return of Linda to the Supporters Trust which would be very welcome news!

No it wasn`t in referance to me coming back ( thanks for your kind words ) my remarks were about a certain Town Supporter who was always banging on about a "plan B " years ago and now apears to be the one who is galvanising the opposition to the sale of the Shay. Like I said in my earlier post I admire him for that but I feel it`s a tad unfair he should be quoteing the views of Fax fans being against the sale to Mr Tuddenham at the council when he knows nothing about the views of most Fax fans and should not be presuming to speak for them .

| Don't know what town fans problem is. It's not as if they fev going to be thrown out of ground. They don't own ground now so only thing that would change for them is that they would have a longer lease and less rent to pay. Also further development of ground would hopefully happen. Finish the corner and maybe a new stand to replace the scircoat stand. Can't see anything but good realy
Would not be able to call us lodgers anymore

| Just reading the Town forum, someone has suggested they all go to the Italy vs Tonga match and invade the pitch on the 19th minute and have a sit down protest.
I appreciate they have concerns, but writing to the council claiming to represent the views of both clubs, on the back of a few conversations is a little out of order from Bubba IMO.
Could the matter go to a public consultation? With every council up and down the country having to make deep cuts, I think they're in a sticky situation if they don't sell as ratepayers will still have to cover the over heads

| I think it's more to do if/when tony Abbott wants rid of the shay. If he goes bankrupt the banks will claim it. If he wants to sell it, it will go to highest bidder. Unless there are provisions in place to prevent it going into the wrong hands and not back to the council or a sst type company, then he definitely won't garner my support. It also doesn't help that he didn't bother to engage the board of the football club at all, before going all cloak n dagger to a small handful of councillors.
His intentions may be honourable, but his
Methodology so far hasn't made him many fans of the people he really needs to help get onside.

Have the actual football club made a statement? As opposed to a few fans speaking up?

Probably not. Some town fans just don't like the rugby club. Sad realy. I want to see both clubs doing well. I may be a leeds united fan but Halifax town are my 2nd club. Dont have 2nd rugby club apart from siddal

| They are mostly a Set of idiots on the Town forum, so what I have read doesnt surprise me. They moan and groan about everything their own club does, so no real shock when they moan about Fax or Tony Abbott.
Bubba once again showing his true colours and how pathetic he is. If he and others are so concerned, why dont they actually ask Tony Abbott about their concerns? Have they even bothered to make any form of contact with Tony Abbott? That to me would be more logical instead of getting all paranoid!
Pitch invasions, Save our Shay Campaigns etc is just typical of the smallmindedness and shows how pathetic they all are. Looking forward to reading what Tony has in mind and how it will benefit many not just Fax

| Tony has stated in his Twitter feed that he met with the Football club 3 weeks ago to outline his plans. So they haven't been kept in the dark as some fans claim.

| Well said. Tony Abbott seems to be an approachable person so if they asked for an audience with him to put forward his plans perhaps they might have a different view, but I doubt it.
I do feel that there should be something in place to ensure that the ground cannot be just sold off, I'm sure he does n't want to sell it off but we have no idea what the future will bring.

I would assume that =#0000FFMr Abbott has done this out of courtesy.

| Social media sites are going mad because of these idiots who have near no information to base all there madness on.
Hey Town fan - wait a minute, take a breath and listen first - you never know you might like it? Don't base Tony Abbott on what is happening / has happened in Coventry for example. For 1, our stadium is much smaller and very much incomplete. 2, yes the tax payer has put quite a bit of money into the stadium but they can't any more.
Let's face facts, NO-ONE but Tony and the people involved know the whole facts.

| If the football club have known about the plans, and the cat is out of the bag regards the potential purchaser, then FCTown have to make a statement regarding whether its a good thing or a bad thing for the football club. Either way, if the figures stack, the ground will be sold by the council -luckily for both clubs its to someone who seems to care more about either footyor rugby

I agree that things as they are are not perfect but there are not and can not be any guarantees made that private ownership, through whoever it may be, will be any better.'"
Its a public assett and as such the Council will have to do this properly which means the Council legal department will crawl all over any agreement. At the moment this is at the negotiation stages and obviously this will be confidential as sensitive information will be being shared, what you expecting an open book with all Tony Abbots business finances laid bare??
Like when the Stadium Trust ran things they were very 'open book' - NOT!
The Council cannot invest much more into the stadium accept that as a fact so why are you saying that a private investor is not a good thing as they can if they have the money and desire to and won't have to go to politicians to decide so. I see that as a good thing myself, all the clubs both need is some reassurance about what rent they pay and income streams.
