So when is this announcement supposed to be?

3.10 on sunday afternoon most likely. Brian Noble is going to have a pop at taking Abbotts 1k for the cross bar challenge first.

On a serious note i have read it somewhere, ( good job my employer dont check my laptop, since i heard this i have spend all day on net looking for info ) if he does come on this consultancy role it will only take him 2 days a week for whatever he will be here for.

Hope this happens as Noble has been there and done it. I think Noble will work with Calland and then seeing first how things go and how Noble feels. IF Noble wants to stay I can possibly see Matts contract not getting renewed and Mr Noble becomes head coach from next year. Well done on the board for atleast trying first to help Matt and also get somebody with experience. There are many benefits for Fax-but also for Calland and others to learn. Hope this now comes off!

I would guess we only train twice maybe 3 times a week anyway.

Because there are lots of people who just can't be d at the moment and feel the club is sinking. Noble joining would re-spark some interest in the town and get the juices flowing again

Whatever role Brian Noble plays once its confirmed, this is an absolutely fantastic result for the club and shows great work and commitment from the board. It was obvious IMO that something was going on as the board had been very quiet regarding on pitch problems. I don’t know what their long term plans are for Matt but either way this is an amazing capture for us and can only be a positive for the club when the SL applications are considered. I’m personally ecstatic about this. Every time we talk about signing new players etc it always gets mentioned that we are getting Sonny Bill Williams as such players are deemed impossible or unlikely...the capture of Brian Noble by our club is most definitely a "Sonny Bill" moment and one that we would never have thought possible. I feel that this move is very good for Matt as he can learn much from nobby while also feeling less pressurised, enabling him to remain focused on team affairs and not the possibility of the sack. Well done to everyone at the club and well done for providing the best possible support for Matt!

Our track record of crossing t's and dotting i's here makes me nervous, signigs of the past haven't gone well, Davis, Ostick, Gene.
If we can get Nobby to join us I will be much happier as long as he answers only to the board and sees the real picture of how training and professionalism need bringing upto speed very very quickly, having talented players has bailed Matt out for a long time now, Ive said before i dont blame him, he does his best, but hes a number 2 at this stage in his career and his learning is not progressing quick enough. This should be a kick up the ass for everyone connected with the playing side, its not a 'lads' social RL club its Halifax RLFC.
We should also readdress the roles of ex players as coaches, turning up and holding the tackle pads and joining in touch and pass ain't enough. I like the Liverpool chiefs attitude of looking for talented young players and not having squads full of short term fixes, I fear the Paul Cooke rumours would have been the last throw of a desparate dice. A good coach could easily lose a few of our players and still have us competitive, motivated and having a chance of winning every game we play in.

If this comes off and we build for the 'future' my faith will be restored in Steele and co, Matts mates, one dimensional rugby and a retirement home for the discarded is not the way forward, players on the up is what we need and a coach with experience, professional pride and able to instill professionalism and respect for the club, game and fans that give them a living. We need to be ambitious and move onto the next level.... SL bound or not, we should strive to be the absolute best we can and win everything we can.

If we don't know by sunday then maybe someone could ask him personally, he should be there in his media capacity shouldn't he ?.

So many rumours, so much speculation. I'm going to just wait till they announce something...

The silence is deafening though and the cynic in me says it's just a marketing ploy. I really hope it's not as it could knock our credibility even more and worryingly increase the disillusionment amongst fans
