Would have really shaken things up if the big 3 had lost tonight but at least it shows all sides can be competitive and those who wrote Toulouse off might have to think again.

Doncaster have only played 1 game, but will be playing tomorrow against Leigh.

Good result for your lads tonight, Barrow didn't do too bad as we've just been promoted last season. The game could of gone either way.

Barrow were the better side. We only really played for 20 minutes at the start of 2nd half.

Beswick was our best player tonight, looked dangerous at acting half all night and scored the winning try. Though Miles had a good game in 2nd half too.

Same old story with regard to completion rates...when will we learn? And again we failed to build any real pressure.

That said Barrow played well especially Ben harrison at centre and thought Liam finch had a good game. Don't think many teams will come away from Craven park with any points this year never mind all 3 points.

I wasn't there, but if Barrow were the better side... ain't it a really good omen that we still came home with the 3 points? A real potential banana skin for us, this one... and one that I suspect that we'd have blown in the last couple of years.

btw SkyBet odds... we're only 11/10 to come top and 11/8 for the Grand Final (and 5/4 for the Trains Cup)

Hard fought win tonight by the lads.

Was nice to see that Barrow can play with a bit of Fax style and lost at least 4 chances of going over on the left only to drop the ball or throw it wildly into touch when clearly in for a score.

I think we were lucky to come away with the points tonight, but we did and as i said, it was hard fought and we have the three, but unlucky to Barrow, they deserved something out of it (a bonus point is better than nothing i suppose).

Hear what you say, but ball control is vital in RL, and if team's can't perform the basics then they generally lose (our problem is more around forcing passes in daft positions).

btw, went through the "experience" of this game via Radio Cumbria. Boy, it's much worse than being at the match for heart-stopping moments!!!

I was at the match and you are wrong. Watching the game was a nerve wracking experience, but as has been mentioned, this was the sort of game that we would have lost last season so things are looking up for the way ahead.

Sign of a good team that doesn't play well and comes away with a win

Well, Barrow will play worse than that and win this year. If anything over the 80 they were the better team. Fax had a great patch 20 minutes after half time and in certain stop start moments in the first. Our defence was pathetic at times, not willing to put our bodies on the line, in some instances not willing to even put fingers on the line, this needs to be rectified before Friday.

Beswick was MOM by a mile, Miles, James and Larder having good games as well. Barker and Watene were very poor IMO and Penky was either brilliant or the opposite. Shows how we can play so poor but still come away with the 3 points.

Barrow were a completly different team - they actually played Rugby this time. They were hungry for work getting off the line and threw the ball out for some great rugby. Their 3 caused us problems all game. I think they will win all their remaining home games this year with a very vocal crowd behind them.

With Widnes getting a spirited win, maybe tonight will be a bit of a kick up the jacksy the team need. Just hope to God(ard) will be back next week. We missed him badly tonight.
