Pretty much confirmed then, keeps same role but won't be listed as a director. That is a concern.

That used to be an old argument on here when the club would ask for things to be removed off here. It's not a fans forums place to be censoring fans without good reason.

Ultimatley these guys have taken a hell of a lot of hard work and effort to build up their own businesses and it would be silly to risk hurting your own reputation for something which is essentially a hobby.'"
I don't think the financial health of the company would have anything to do with his resignation as it wouldn't affect any of his other business interests. In my very humble opinion I think the resignation has more to do with he will no longer be involved in any decision making (which requires ratification at board level, basically meaning "he has lost his vote"icon_wink.gif.

| Director resigns then really early season ticket sale for next season. Lets hope this is warning sign because it would be easy to jump to that conclusion.

I understand your thought process but durgans business is one of the least successful businesses out of the current directors , with uttley and bannister being the big guns . Also durgan has been very transparent on social media regarding his decision, usually when there’s a problem it’s human nature to be less so .

My thoughts exactly. Usually the early bird offer extends to Xmas so this is quite concerning.
And doing the maths, it looks like the South Stand admission is increasing from £19 to £22 and the East Stand from £22 to £25. OK, it's the first increase for quite some time, but the admission has got way ahead of itself since the 90s when it broke a fiver, since which time it's quadrupled but the average salary has hardly doubled.
I think we can wave goodbye to attracting new fans if we're asking them to stump up over 20 quid for lower tier RL. And the 15% increase will probably be wiped out by an equivalent decrease in the crowd, so self defeating imo.

Why is stating the admission will be increasing to £22 / £25 "speculative"? It's a fact. And in my opinion it's a bad move as it won't attract new fans. It's not "doom and gloom", it's quite obvious, don't yer think? Sorry we're not all such fun loving dudes like yerself, Listenup.

Thanks for the apology, it’s appreciated, the club sells some season tickets in a positive spin and as per usual you n greg turn into the tribulation twins donned in the end is nigh placards . Give it a rest is effing depressing.

How do you put a positive spin on a director resigning yet keeping exactly the same role that he had and us announcing a season ticket offer before this season has even ended? I presume we would have been running the same offer up to Christmas anyway so it looks very much like a cash grab to anyone using common sense. Maybe it is to get a killer signing over the line, it could be something like that but throw in the Durgan news and you feel that might be a stretch.

If one of the other directors left an executive role I’d be more worried but durgan is no Ian croad who is a slick operator. He seems like a busy man on is socials and he probably underestimated the amount of time and energy it took .

| Letting people know how much next seasons ticket prices are going to be as early as possible and the best ways of how to make savings and keeping those options open for as long as possible seems like a positive thing to me.
I for one can now decide whether to buy season tickets and pay hundreds in advance but make the savings or spread the cost, pay more on the day and the latter option will turn out not to be a cash grab.

But his role has not changed, I thought he said that himself apart from his director obligations which would have only been taking up his accountants time.

Yeah I'd agree with that and maybe its just bad timing with the other stuff. Obviously over a 15% rise on prices at the gate should not be underestimated and its a great idea for the club to let people spread the cost so in that sense getting the offer out early could be a good idea and they may get a decent uptake on the offer. Im not naive enough to not be able to see both sides.

| At least "for now" he hasn't just walked out and from what RD has said he's going to stay in the same role ( and no doubt be a bit wiser than say 12 months ago) and honour his financial promises / commitments.
The details of these commitments will have been promised first of all to the other board members leading up to and at the time of the takeover and for how long that would be.
If it is heading towards him taking a lesser role or even leaving completely at some future time then you would have thought behind closed doors that will have been discussed and at least the club can make plans accordingly.
Every club has to try and plan in advance and an important factor is of course knowing your finances and it's there where the connection is with the season tickets.
Can't see much changing from the previous, in that before the start of the new season the club should know how much income there is from central funding (if any) how much from season tickets and how much from within themselves.
To me admission prices are a lot of money even before the rise and it's both a contentious and difficult decision to have to make.
It will be interesting to see the stats for attendances / accounts for Batley this year with the tenner on the day entry fee and how that has worked out this season as compared to last year.

| If i remember right didn't durgan say when announcing Finn as the new coach that there would be some changes off field to help Finn and these would be announced shortly. While this could mean a couple of different scenarios it could also be someone else coming in to replace Richard as one of the directors and dealing with the recruitement side of things.

The great flaw in that argument is that you HAVE TO PAY rent/mortgages, gas, electric and yes even lurpak (lol) but going to a rugger match is optional. It's tuff dragging fringe fans through the gate as it is but now it'll cost £44 for a couple for a day at the Shay, 50 quid if you want to plonk your backside down. Hey I know that depresses yer but hey ho I'd say "you're having a laugh". Notice that Keighley have had decent crowds charging £15, a big difference .... the same couple would have change to buy some pints in spoons. Just saying as I see it ..... DOOM DOOM but look I ain't a misery - see:

The club also HAVE TO PAY rent and overheads.
Going back a number of years every BoD have been acutely aware of how tough it is the get fans through the gates and the main thing that does is a successful team.
Is there any evidence that reducing admission prices increases the crowds to a level that maintains or increases that particular income stream and helps in producing a winning team?
Not even sure there is a solution with everything the general public have to consider either through necessity if your skint or the amount of other things there are to choose to spend your money on if you have some.
Seeing you mention Keighley, how have they performed this year and didn’t they have to release a few players because they couldn’t afford to keep them?
As before I agree the admission prices seem steep to me but they seem to be upsetting and depressing you more than ListenUp.

The great flaw in your argument is that you look at everything subjectively, the rent , electricity, water , and general cost of living has risen significantly in the past few years along with wages including player wages , these costs have to be calculated and covered, if they weren’t I’m pretty sure you and your twin would be on it faster than a negative comment after a loss . I’m pretty sure if we were in the same league position as keighley you would be crying like you were a few hours ago so using them as an example is laughable.
