Hate to say it but I would do a fev and take the dual reg with a top sl team go for top 4 and ssort the cash flow issues

I agree, I think we need dual reg now. Saying that though anyone who looks at our first choice squads and thinks we will be in a relegation struggle is having a laugh. We will compete for the top 4 once again. Good use of a dual reg agreement could put us back in that top 4 in a similar way that Fev made it last year.

Who are we going to DR with??

Not a fan of DR but I see both Fev and Batley, who finished with more money than us last year, have linked up again with Leeds and Cas respectively, so whether we like it or not we may have to at least consider it with a much smaller squad, more full time teams, and a real risk of injury and having to throw our kids in if that happens.
Maybe the answer to your question PB is Hull FC? Rawsthorne just gone there and we now have a tenuous link?

Those are my thoughts, I'm afraid that we have accept the inevitable, much as I do not either like or agree with it, that we have to use DR, we don't have the money or squad size and we are no longer even a big club in this division. It is getting to the stage where another poor season could signal the end of the club so we need to take drastic actions.

I think Hull are sticking with just Doncaster. Given that the top teams, Wigan, Saints, Hull and possibly Warrington are already taken, the lower teams I feel do not have much quality outside their main squads other than Leeds but even they are in a transitional period, it does not leave that much choice although I can think of one recently promoted team that I think a DR system could be perfect for us.

I would take leigh they uave enough proven champiomship quaility who wont get much game time. Who will be looking to leave when contracts expire. So will be beneficial to us and them

I happen to like the DR system,and at Hooker alone we have 4 very good players in Higham, Pelissier,Hood, and Foster, in the pack we have a fair few players to pick from, unless we get injuries I can't see Ben Reynolds being in the first 17, yet he is a very good leader at Championship level, I'm sure RM has a good relationship and contacts at Leigh, being a former Leigh player , so it could benefit both Clubs, remember if you don't ask, you don't get.

Ey-up mate. I don't want to sound like a stuck record but NO club benefits from DR. It may be of use short term for those clubs that are too short sighted to dismiss it but continued use of it will only lead to one thing. Remember Bramley/Huyton/Blackpool Borough? ,we are entitled to our opinions are we not?I have mine you have yours, I stick by min and think DR s used in the right way can be very useful, I'm not privy to what happened at the Club's you give as an example,but look how useful the DR system has been to Fev, and remember no club is forced to DR.

Ian, of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, even SL fans. The thing is, mine's right and your's is wrong!

It's not useful. It's a short term fix at the very best.

What happened at the clubs I mentioned (information freely available to folk who read the "trade" press) is that they relied on DR then found that - hang on a minute - these lads aren't eligible to play in the "eights" bit of the season.

The RFL bang on about increasing the player pool then Gary comes up with a scheme that reduces it - to which everyone says "Yay".

Griff with me being Ginger folk used to say my hair was Rusty,a fair few still say I've no brain,but my skin is thick , like my head,again it's all about what suits your Club , a few years ago under Ian Millwall we started to DR with Warrington, and later went with Wigan, I enjoyed seeing the talent they sent us, agreed it was a short term fix but it did the job required, we are fortunate to have Derek B at our Club, my motto is , if it suits you wear it, if it doesn't don't.
I intend watching a few Championship games next season as I think the Comp will be a very good one,but I think both Fax and Sheff will have to do a bit of astute marketing to be challenging the top Clubs.DR or no DR.

There's more money in the game than there ever was.

But now we can't afford A teams.
