Re Kavanagh he should do a good job for us but I would imagine with his wages and what was saved on Tangata we could have brought in some real star quality as Im pretty sure its not really our pack that is lacking. Still he does improve our pack and we just have to hope that the star signings will follow.

I read posts on here regularly. What do people want. We haven't got lots of cash. The team did well last year on a smaller budget than most in top six and still part time.

I understand what you are saying but Leigh had a shot at SL and Bradford's trophy list is endless. Do you want a shot at that or do you want us to tread water as we are at the moment with no realistic chance of promotion? It is catch 22 for the club, everyone can see we need to take a chance at some quality signings but that is going to mean financial risk with the possible reward been more bums on seats. If you never take a shot you will never hit the target.

We simply can’t compete financially with Toronto, Widnes or Toulouse next year when it comes to player recruitment. Realistically our target next season will be a top five finish and an upset in the playoffs.

To repeat. We've had three out of four finishes and the rewards that go along with that. The time has come to speculate to accumulate. If you're happy to watch us plod along hoping for a play-off spot then get hammered, well that's your choice. I'm not and the failure to boost attendances these past few season's suggest the Halifax public aren't either. Up The Fax!

Fully agree with not being able to compete financially with the teams you mentioned but they can’t sign everybody and we can compete with the rest.

Realistically if we don’t or can’t try and sign a good quality fullback or any other player better than we allready have then no doubt we will compete but it will likely be us that experiences the upset as we fall just short again.

Not so sure about the club moving forward, feels more to be treading water.

The club is “Treading Water” and with present finances will do nothing else - it may well go backwards if clubs like Bulls, Featherstone and others can generate funding.

For us I just don’t see where money will come from to “speculate” with, our last set of acconts don’t indicate any hidden reserve funds...perhaps someone can enlighten me?

Maybe speculate is not the right word, maybe a case of been more shrewd with the finances. As an example instead of signing a prop that is probably on more than some of our backs, how about pool that money along with Tangata's freed salary and bring in a flair player who might ignite fans passion.

Realistically in terms of money to benefit Qlt has to be one to aim for . We need someone who scores and creates try's .....it's him . Try crowdfunding see what happens and let's hope he doesn't play too well on the union circuit because that's where the money is now .
