Seriously, I don't know why you think you can rely on Salford in an injury crisis.

They're not running any other teams so they'll probably be in the same position as you.

You'll be turning up with 12 players like York.

It just seems a strange thing for a director of the club to say. It's often said that the crowd can be the 18th man, but it's the other 17 that have to perform first to get everyone motivated. It just doesn't happen the other way round!

And this is the problem, we have stood still for two years while other teams have improved. Last year's signings were pretty much a waist of time and money.
We haven't improved again this year. Loosing Manning is a huge blow.
All I can see for this year is a very long and hard season ahead.Hope I'm wrong.

I agree the club blame ex-Directors and sponsors and also the fans for things going pear shaped, alienating many who will never return yet they never blame themselves and ask why things went wrong and sort it out, its no wonder we have gone backwards!!!
I am not a fan of DR but beggars cannot be choosers and we will struggle with the squad we have over the full season we need back up and if you look at Fev they used DR to their advantage by getting Leeds players in last season and Wakey the year before and it worked as we all know to our cost!!!
I prefer a loan system myself but we have to play with the cards that we have been dealt.

We haven't strengthened from last season. We have lost our best back rower to a rival. A positive keeping Tangata. Just surprised we haven't looked to sign 1 or 2 forwards to compensate for loss of Manning and Haggerty. We look a little short and cant rely too much on DR.

We have lost a good few forwards from last year. Moore, Manning, Robinson, Bennion to mention some and even when we had them RM himself admitted that in some games our pack were out muscled.
Just fits with we are skint and will have to go with who we have, some of the younger lads and DR. Even more of a concern if we get any injuries.

That's the problem we are relying on DR,as it's the only perceived way.We are back to the low of 2003/4 now and that got much worse till it got better..

The only time the club would blame sponsors is when they either do not see out their contracts or go back on their word. Either way is poor form IMO.

Massive over exaggeration and over reactions on both threads about DR. Yeah we look a bit light if we pick up injuries but our team still looks pretty strong.

Personally think we have a very week pack. Especially in front row. Our hookers are too predictable and offer no attack, and in the backs our centres are too slow and offer nothing for the wings. We have some good individual players but as a team it doesn't look strong enough for me.

Agree and so doe's RM apparantly as a couple of Salford forwards are set to feature in Fev friendley......so much for giving our squad a chance first.........

we don't have any to give a chance to really who are ready for the championship. Its a friendly best to see what these players have to offer who we can use throughout the season. I would rather use it and make top 4 than struggle to avoid the relegation battle

Sadly the game, our League and all the clubs in it are in a mess and some decisions are being made or forced on us that simply go against the grain. The situation we are in means we would be foolish not to use DR and if some Salford players do play in a friendly then maybe its good as RM can see before hand what he is getting attitude wise and gets the guys up to speed with what he wants. Our pack does look weak in Quantity and Quality. But there is still time to bring in loan or sign players. It would be easy to think negative but I see positives in this as well. The players know they disappointed last year but have taken pay cuts and chosen to right some wrongs. Attitude is often the difference in winning games. Top 4 is possible, as I dont think the League has improved at all from last season. It will be tough though. I think we need to get rid of the doom and gloom and look at the positives. Its us that can help create a positive attitude at games and events. The players feel that then they will use that as motivation. We will be underdogs but thats a good thing.
