Start one, i agree, the 3 year licence is intended to allow stability and development, we would develop quicker in the SL with all the trappings. When you consider a Leeds home game generates more cash than winning the Championship GF, its all about ambition. Be bold.

Well 17 out for one game is a little ridiculous would you not say and if not for our academy what would we have done? Relate that too other clubs and how could anyone else stand up in SL?

Batley away we had 17 first team players unavailable for selection so had to dig early into academies to find players... What would Halifax had done whilst still fulfilling all fixtures? Bare in mind Barrow lost about 8 and cancelled reserve side!

Sad way for a sport to go. Will RL become as fake as WWE? Your post sums up what is wrong with our game. Franchises are supposed to bring financial stability to the game. I have seen nothing to suggest that it's working - from SL down to the Championships. (I appreciate it's early doors but the signs aint good). All we have done is make the SL an elitist body. Quite ironic given the way our game came into being.

In my little world though, ticked boxes can NEVER surpass a Championship trophy.

I think everyone knows that Widnes are going up even though they seem to be a mid table team.

What all championship clubs need to do is cut there first team wage bills(which ou seem to be doing) and spend more on the reserves and youth set up to even get a sniff of super league. I know Widnes have done this.

Fev have been allowed to set an 18s side to play with the S/L sides next season as i believe Widnes have been doing this season and done very well indeed. The problem is that the S/L 18s get 100 000 to fund there sides but fev are not allowed the money as there first team are not in S/L.

If the RFL want this country to to bring the youth through they should help championship sides set up these teams from 15s-21s by funding them as i believe a youngster has more chance of breaking into the first teams in the championship than s/l as Zak Hardacre did for us this season and the clubs also need some protection from the big clubs taking them away (Zac going to Warrington ? ). If this was in place the championship clubs could spend some of there money on other things and become stronger as a club ready for the move up if they were accepted.

I think Fax should go for it but we still fall short in a couple of places but we have made improved from when we put our 1st super league bid in for 2009 so lets make the same steps forward for the next round for 2015 and we should stand a good chance in that 1. main priority as got to be to sort out the Youth development but the fact this is not funded by the RFL outside super league stinks.

So we werent ready in 2009, and now same for 2012 and so 2015 is when we should go for it, guys guys we have just done back to back grand finals and a win in the last one, if you ask me we have to go for it this time if we can, lets face it, this season coming should see our crowds increase to what they potentially can reach in this division, so whats to lose. No time like the present if you ask me.

Better stadium then almost half the super league teams, decent team foundation to build on, succesful period under our belts, only thing lacking is crowds but if we go up then they will increase, how much by, who knows, we wont know unless we try, just go for it.

I agree. I don't get this 'we're not ready' malarky, ok so we don't have a Youth set-up but other than that what else are we supposed to do? The crowds aren't going to improve (much - probably to a legit 2,500 this year, but back down after 2011) if we're told in March we're here for another 4 years. Sponosorship will be there or there abouts the same. Will we end up with another Grand Final even?

If we're told in March we're getting promoted crowds will increase, so will sponsorship and some quality players will want to sign knowing we'll be in SL. We then have at least 3 years in Super League. I'd rather win 8 games out of 27 in Super League for the 1st year and build than still be here in this division any day of the week.

I want us to be in Super League more than anything but I think we have to be realistic I cant see any way they will let us in I really think that no youth set up will really go against us I hope I am badly wrong.

Next time round will be harder as there will be more foreign bidders, poss cumbrian club, leigh, fev etc. This time we're second favs probably, likely that won't be the case for 2015.

Then again, in 2015 cas, wakey, salford etc will churn out the same CAD drawings of their new stadium to get another extension....
