| There was a post on twitter from catalan media suggesting that the upcoming challenge cup game could be played in catalan due to finance issues at Fax , this rumour as been quashed by matt shaw but when you look at our fixture list with Sheffield away, barrow home , York away twice there won't be income till fev at home , apparently we need a thousand fans to break even.

| I've read (likely from the same source on X) that there was an agreement in principle to switch the game to Perpignan, which has been refused by the RFL.And suggesting the game will be played next Saturday possibly with a lunchtime kick off.
You'd hope with SL opposition to break 1000, but with the game been on a saturday lunchtime that will impact the attendance. Quite a few local-ish football teams are all at home on that saturday (Leeds and Bradford also with lunchtime kick offs).
Attendance on Sunday was poor, Thatto Heath didn't look to have brought many with them. But still more than Catalan will

| A sign of things to come this season regarding poor attendances, the Championship in particular with the IMG kick in the teeth continuing to alienate fans.
Watching Match of the Day last Saturday, the pundits were delighted to see the likes of Bournemouth and Notts Forest doing so well in the Premiership giving the top a refreshing different look. "Super" League, however, are hell bent on keeping the status quo with the same old teams, slamming the door shut on everyone else. I hope they choke on their own greed.

| All been very quiet from the club about this for some time now.
Today's case is against "Halifax Rugby League Football Club Limited" which is the dormant company. And not "HALIFAX RLFC (TRADING) LTD" which is the active club, Not sure what difference that makes?

High Court Update: Positive Progress for Halifax Panthers
High Court Update: Positive Progress for Halifax Panthers
The Board of Directors are pleased to provide an update following today’s High Court hearing (29 January 2025) regarding the club and HMRC.
Importantly, the winding up petition was not passed. The judge has directed both parties to submit additional evidence and documentation as part of the process.
We want to reassure our supporters that this matter is being handled professionally, and the club remains in honour throughout. Day-to-day operations continue as normal, and our focus remains firmly on preparations for the season ahead.
As always, we appreciate your continued trust and support and will provide further updates when appropriate.

| What I’d like to know is “what would happen if the winding up petition had been passed”.
Is the next step compulsory closure and cease trading immediately or because the club was advised by specialists that they had a strong case and it’s been genuinely disputed even though the judge ruled against the club can he grant a period of time to pay up?

| Baffles me how both hmrc and the rugby club both represented by so called super duper barristers "need more time to gather evidence " how much more time do you need this boring story as been rambling on for months . I can only surmise these barristers are working from home.
