I understand what you you mean , I can recommend the Big Blue Hotel on the Pleasure Beach , its on a Bed and Breakfast basis , you can get a room that sleeps 4 for around £100 per night , if you go online ,sometimes it pays to book as late as possible , its very good value .Myself and Mrs Caroli will be staying at Ribby Hall in Wrea Green , about 5 miles from Blackpool , you can book a 3 bedroom Bungalow there for the week-end , that sleeps up to 8 people for around £400 at this time of year , and it has everything , again look it up online .

Charlie you can`t tell a Yorkshireman how to save money , it is cheaper to leave it but will there be any decent hotels left for that particular evening which I doubt . Big Blue is a decent hotel I looked on line for that as I intend to visit for the lights with some NZ visitors price £71 but for the Summer Bash weekend it`s over £100.

After reading all that Me and the Mrs are thinking about hiring a deck chair, maybe 2 and one of those stripey wind break things. By the way any idea when high tide is on that weekend?

That`s a good idea as you would save on paying out the extra for the " sea view".

Mrshalifaxjohn and I have enjoyed many stays at different Travelodges and will continue to do so.
They are always clean, good value and many now have updated rooms. The one next to Blookfield Rd is a fine example.
Coventry Garden Travelodge is excellent and if you book early you need pay no more than £60.
Unfortunately leaving Chateaux halifaxjohnfamilia tomorrow and on our way home will be stopping at three different Campaniles, they are very similar to Travelodges but for some reason they speak French.
Good luck this weekend, I' looking very much forward to Batley.

and I have had a couple of bad experiences at Travelodges , I stayed at one near Drury Lane in London recently and wouldn't go back ther , I always say you only get what you pay for .Both my Daughters stayed at the Bloomfield Road Travelodge in Blackpool recently and were not that impressed either , ive booked the Caroli ladies in a Small Hotel in Blackpool in August they are going to see the show Mama Mia , and will see what they say .

Good to see I was right last night with the Fax result , I think your game against Fev at the Shay will be very important in deciding 2nd Spot , I knew you had faith in Fax ,Batley are also playing well at the moment , you never know a trip to the LSV might await you in the play-offs .

Ian, I used to deliver to the hotels and resturants of Blackpool, thats one of the reasons I tend not to eat there if possible ,it really is a sheeitehole, strangely I was working there today

Steve I agree there are some real Toilets going under the name of Hotels in Blackpool , I know I have stayed in a few ,I do spend a lot of nights in Blackpool , as I love the place , but NOT the Town centre , I only ever eat where I know they are clean , but as I have said there are some very nice places .For the Magic Week-end im going to try to book at Ribby Hall , the food is very good , a good Water Centre for both kids and adults , and evening entertainment for all ages .Though I never miss a flutter at the Casino .

Aaaahhh the Big Top , nothing better , and a Donkey ride cant beat it , though they still have Fridays off as a day of rest .

Just booked at Travelodge next to ground £69 for sat night n then read Charlie comments!Never mind booked now and if weekend happens again and hotel is crap will go somewhere different.

Don't worry Midge , its just what my Daughters told me , ive never stayed there , they could be wrong , and you are only going to sleep there , if you are happy what you have paid , then who am I to knock it .You will be there at Blackpool , that's all that matters .

I booked yesterday at the Carousel , I have stayed there before and it was ok as we had the grandchildren with us but it must be about 5/6 yrs ago however not sure what it`s like now but seems ok . The price was coming up £68 online but rang the hotel direct and was quoted £60 ....result ,they do have rooms still available as well.

I have stayed at the Carousel on 3 occasions , I think it is now owned by New Proprieters ,a big Hotel with entertainment , I prefer the South Shore end when staying in Blackpool .

I prefer the really South of Blackpool, Liverpool! Honestly, Blackpool makes Mixenden look posh! I think a day trip on't train for us. Rat & Rat, shudds. White Rat 4.0% Mmm!

You'll have a great stay, there is a bar and restaurant in the hotel.
Never mind the snobs, if it's good enough for Mrshalifaxjohn it's good enough for royalty.
