Can we match them at all? (Warrington and Wigan i mean). I even fear for Widnes when they kick off their SL season. They're going to get mullered at the start. I know it's not very ambitious of me and i do want Fax to be in SL but i want a competitive team. Not sure how long it would take to get anywhere near these two giants clashing on me telly.

I'd rather lose 40-0 a few times to the best two teams in the country in front of crowds between 7-16,000 than play Batley and Fev up to 5 times a season each in front of no one.

As for the Cas scenario, there's more chance of Halifax winning this year's Challenge Cup than that happening. We'll be in Tuesday.

I really hope your right Tommy but I can't see anyway that we can get in without the league being extended and the door as been slammed shut on that.

What on EARTH are you on about, Tommy? Where do you get the 7 - 16,000 crowds from? You have a short memory, my son, we got terrible crowds when we were getting stuffed in SL and often got outnumbered by the away supporters .... very embarrassing. Jezuz, I read some crap on here but that tommy comment has coaxed me out of my "semi-retirement" ... rather watch us lose 40 nil? God help us. I've watched some great stuff the past few years ..... proper blood and thunder stuff in a very competitive league. Watching FAX has become an entertainment rather than a chore. And that's why I hope we don't get into "Super" League .... we ain't ready and it'll be a nightmare watching meaningless garbage at the foot at the table playing the likes of Crusaders and the Queens .... there ain't even relegation to stoke the interest. Jezussss christ, I despair sometimes ..... I really do ............

If the club is to move forward then SL must be the goal - the Championship as good a league as it is, is in decline and will contine to be so as the clubs are poorly funded and have nothing to play for ..... its not ideal but Tuesday is a mssive day for the club.

Well if Wigan and Wire bring 3,500 to our ground then we'd only need 3,500 home fans. Obviously the up to 17,000 is the Away attendances.
Plus the losing 40-0 bit was both tongue in cheek plus only in relation to the best two teams. I don't expect, nor would I be happy with, losing by that every week.

Wise up Tony Fax. You usually come out with some good 'out of retirement' post but that was a bit tinpot.

Cas, Hull KR and Salford all went up and none have a massive backer but they are competitive. Obviously to WIN SL outright you'd need a bit of wonga from a backer or crowds but it's not essential for the level we INITIALLY want to be which is to compete. No one wants to lose each week, but a bit of a leap of faith and a few hard losses will always come when moving to the next level. We shouldn't hide in a shell and be scared of having to take a break from being the best down here to being a bottom half team in SL for a couple of years otherwise we'll never progress on and off the pitch. Getting promoted (if we do) should be anything but a worry.

Plus Tony lad, at the time of losing 40-0 I wouldn't be happy obviously but as above I'd RATHER we were in that position as it would mean we were in SL trying to better ourselves. It's hardly rocket science what I'm saying. Plus if it hadn't escaped your notice, we're in the bottom half of THIS league and been pumped before. If you'd rather that happened in holes with no fans with part time players then that's your choice. I'd rather at least see it surrounded by some elite players, stadia and crowds.
