A Widnes win with them having a touch more class than our lads. Will be a blood and thunder game up front where we will give as good as we get. The game will be won in the halves where they just have that little extra class and pace. Looking forward to it and what a win it would be if I am proven to be wrong.

With no disrespect meant to Halifax, if we can't beat the supposed 'weakest' side in this competition, then we don't deserve to be in Super League next season.
I do think that the game on Sunday will be very much like the Challenge Cup game a couple of seasons ago: Both teams trading scores for 60/65 minutes until we pull away. I think Widnes by 16 would flatter us slightly if the game goes how I think it will

Perhaps the perception of Fax as the weakest team is backed up by us Finishing fourth however, apart from Leigh we had the best end of season run of the top four, beating Fev away, London who were well placed then on neutral ground, Sheffield away And Dewsbury away, nine games undefeated.
As I have said if's and buts don't count, every team has them but if Richard had had more time at the beginning of the season we would have finished higher than fourth (in my very humble opinion)
As for not deserving SL if you don't beat us, its a mini league, take Wendy ball playoffs you can lose a game and still get promoted.
I think we will win on Sunday and I honestly don't think we will finish bottom, however just being in the mix is far more than I expected after the last three seasons.
There is no pressure on us, unlike all the other teams except Sheffield.
No disrespect intended towards the Eagles.

Personally I don't see you as the weakest in the league, due to the unbeaten run you've found yourself on. I would go as far as to say Wakefield are the weakest, just for the sheer losing mentality that seems to have surrounded the club over the last 5/6 months.
I'll be honest, your lot surprised me when you finished in the top 4. I'm sure I weren't the only only one who disregarded Halifax at the start of the season in favour of Featherstone or London finishing ahead of you. But the fact that you think you could have finished higher surely bodes well for the next 7 games in terms of confidence and for next season. I wouldn't be surprised to read soon that your lot are following in the footsteps of Sheffield and going full time.
I really hope you're wrong when you predict a Halifax win, as much as I'd love to see you do well, just not at the expense of us. You'll face poorer Super League teams, if you can still call Widnes, KR, Wakey and Salford Super League teams anymore, than Widnes in these 7 games. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few shocks coming from Halifax

I have no axe to grind about Widnes but the way they were elevated into Super League was wrong.
It perhaps showed how inept (corrupt) the RFL were and over the next couple of months as the results pan out let's see if the goal posts get moved.

So, if we get promoted would we have to go full time or is the only thing we need to is ensure at the end of next season we finish in the top 4 of the qualifiers, allowing us to build our infrastructure ?

Tomorrow's game will be very hard ,in fact as we already know they will all be hard, being serious I can't see us winning more than 2 games would love to be wrong ,but these 8s have come a season to soon.

I don't agree that they have come too soon, the very fact that we made the eights means it's been a successful season, even if we don't win a game in the last 7. I think we might compete in most and might pick up a couple of wins.

Well spot on with that, makes a change.

Thought we deserved more out of the game, they were all over the place just before the first try and the games was there for the taking.
Great effort by all but we coughed up way too much possession and they played a percentage game, felt we'd have got more if we'd put more pressure on Brown.
Onwards to the next Game, hopefully no injuries but not overly sure what happened to Saxton.
