I've noticed today that Wigan have done dual reg deals with both Swinton and London Skolars, in effect triple reg! When will the madness end? It really is making our game a laughing stock and brings feeder clubs or clubs disappearing altogether one step nearer. The trouble is with people such as Ralph Rimmer in charge I see no way out of this shambles. A sad day indeed.

At least we haven't gone down that route this season and there are fewer clubs which haven't. I suppose we will have to see how Fev get on as they are sticking with Leeds and see if being a duel reg team really does have its advantages.

I've no doubt Fev will benefit from having Leeds players in their team, which club wouldn't? The thing is it won't be Featherstone Rovers will it? The main thing though is the overall and long lasting effects this system will have on the game. The powers that be shouldn't allow it but I'm quite sure they know who it is designed for and are quite happy for it to continue. But you reap what you sow and it will surely all end in tears. Wigan are a Super League club so I don't think Mr Rimmer can be blamed anymore for the dual reg situation agreed by some clubs.
The Super League clubs do not want to run reserve sides and it suits them to enter dual reg agreements which go far beyond the original idea,agreed by the RFL,to give game time to young,inexperienced players.

I agree with the Cas partnership for many reasons.

One the coach: Marshall spends a lot of time with Powell at cas games so is still learning his trade of a well established coach.

Two : we used this well last year when required and helped us secure 4th spot

Our reserves have proved a very good grounding for players and we are seeing the benefits in the first team. If we can't get a proper reserve contest going - and this should obviously be what should be there - then having a duel reg with Hunslet to let these players get some extra game time makes sense, so I would support it.

I cant therefore, even if I don't like the lack of reserve grade rugby, complain with the link to Castleford. Hopefully we will get some good quality players to help us - Mitch Clark is a decent Championship Prop to start the season with.

If he is good enough he will get a chance and then its up to him if he takes it or not like Butler did. Jones got a chance last season and didn't do enough to keep his place but he has potential. I don't rate Clark that highly but he will do a better job for us than Jones imo.

The point for DP is he will think it gives a chance for his player to get a game.

The point for RM is as he said, “it comes down to getting the result and winning.”
He must think that Clarke has more to offer than Jones at the moment (if Sion is not injured that is) and I am sure he will use DR selectively throughout the season whenever he thinks it will benefit the team.

If Sion is not injured no doubt he would have wanted to play and will be disappointed to miss out on the 19.
Like everyone at the club he will know to get into the first team they are competing not only against other Fax club players but also DR players from the clubs Fax are allied with.
The point for him is how he responds, either keep trying and prove he’s good enough or move on earlier with more of a chance of getting a regular start somewhere else like others have done.

The point on the larger scale is sadly DR is all part and parcel of the modern game at this point in time and apart from repeating already well aired views that everyone knows about and understands why keep mentioning it, what’s the point?

As an outsider with what I have seen and heard with just a couple of days to go I would be more optimistic than a couple of months ago and Rovers will still be a force to reckoned with?

Difficult to tell. Most of the squad incl the coach have only had a couple of weeks together.
Playing at Odsal in february will go down like a led zeppelin wi those png lads and ozzies...
