| Better to get active or passive 3D? If active, can you use passive glasses with it?

I have an active TV, and its very good.
Things to consider:
Active - Requires 'special' glasses that need charging (£££) - Full HD - Possible crosstalk/ghosting
Passive - Requires 'special' glasses that don't need charging (£) - Half height HD
You can't use one on the other.
A good explanation:

| For years I've been ideologically opposed to 3D for many of the obvious reasons.
That said, I was completely blown away by my old man's new Samsung 3D TV. He invited the family round to watch Avatar. I've seen that movie a couple of times so I wasn't particularly bothered about watching it again.
That said - it was like watching a completely new film. The detail was simply jaw-dropping. And the new glasses (which cost an absolute bomb) render the picture as bright as anything offered by standard HD.
It's really made me think about 3D. I'm still not convinced I'll buy one. But the decision is an awful lot harder to make now.
