I am going to keep this as a sticky thread and add some updates as I get them.

[*A meeting is being held in the new year to discuss the naming/colours/crest etc. for the club.
[*Fans panel has been formed.

They'll be called Northampton Town RL, nicknamed the "Cobblers" and will play in Mauve and white @ Home and Mauve and yellow away?????



Stuffed with Cobblers fans, whom the football club are desperately hoping they can "convert" to RL fans so that they can continue to get large crowds by C1 levels to subsidise the FC????

I WILL WATCH WITH INTEREST THE START OF NORTHAMPTON.I HOPE THEYHAVE A SOUND BUSINESS PLAN AS MANY TEAMS HAVE AND ARE STRUGGLING WITH FINANCES

Not true and I can tell you for a fact it wont just be Northampton Town fans on the panel as I don't support them. There will be a Weymouth fan on the panel.

As my club play in claret and blue I would not object to them having those colours though.

I for one, wish you well for the future. Maybe the RL has got it right at last by giving you a full year to raise some money and get things properly set up.

Has anyone had any news from the club since the fans panel meeting? Just wondering if they have confirmed the short list for the proposed names.

Northampton Town chairman David Cardoza said today (via live web chat) that the shortlist would be coming out soon and that his prefered name is Northampton Revolution (named for football club starting a RL team, but also as tribute to Northants motor sport history).

Sorry, there's only one "Town" in rugby league, can't have that.
