As I watched a fair few teenagers protesting against the current gun laws, I thought fair play to ‘em, it’s the only way anything will change. Maybe the protest could snowball & could become akin to the civil rights movement back in the day.

But I made the error of watching the news a bit later, with Trump suggesting arming teachers in the schools to stop the shootings – genius, more guns!

What a sorry state of affairs all round.

I can proudly say I've never bought a thing from a KFC, ever. In fact I'd be delighted if KFC, along with the rest of the Yank junk food joints, disappeared off the face of the British Isles.

And people say that "Trump is doing ok".
The guy is a butty short of a picnic.

Can you imagine IF they armed the teacher's, never mind where they would keep their weapons, there would be shoot out's on a regular basis.

You seem to be under the assumption that if you start with a healthy item of food, nothing you can do to it will make it unhealthy. That's simply not true.

The chicken breast itself isn't junk, but once it's been coated in a mixture of breadcrumbs and salt, then fried in oil, it becomes junk. In the case of KFC extra crispy, the 200+ extra calories added in the process are empty calories, (energy rich, nutrient poor) they offer nothing but flavour and texture.

Interesting you mention fish and chips. Out of all the fast foods, fish and chips is considered one of the most healthy, but the fish has to be VERY lightly battered, or better still unbattered. It's the batter that makes it a junk food.

Another good example is a toffee apple. An apple on it's own is a healthy snack, coat it in caramelised sugar and dip it in hundreds and thousands and it becomes junk food.

The amount of saturated fat, salt, sodium and other additives that wreck your body, would put it in the junk food category

As has been pointed out, the amount of saturated fat, fatty acids and sodium in a KFC puts it firmly in the junk food category; that's beyond dispute. And for context, to burn off 3 pieces of KFC chicken and fries would require the average male to do about 100 minutes of cardio - no mean feat.

Like most food, I don't suppose it's impossible to enjoy one every now and again if that's what floats your boat, but regular intake is undoubtedly bad for your health.
