I recall some total mismatches when I was at school. Teams being bowled out for 20 and the like. But never anything as low as 3.

I also recall some football games that ended up with scores like 14-2.

Er, as the bowling was being done by (with all due respect to them) Wirral CC 1st XI, it would be a tad overexcited to advance their indisputably superb effort in Cheshire League Division 3 as "the best sports performance ever"?

The headline is arguable. Your "alternative" headline would be risible. Better than Botham's Ashes? Better than Roger Bannister's sub-4 minute mile? Better than Ovett and Coe? Better than Tiger Woods at Augusta in 1997 winning the Masters by 12 shots, on -18? Or Usain Bolt running 100 metres in 9.58 seconds?
